I'm not sure about the 'but'. It doesn't seem necessary although the meaning is the similar. The original sentences and the first synthesis seem to answer the question \"Did your aunt report the matter to the police?\" while the 2nd synthesis seems to answer the question \"Did your mother and aunt report the matter to the police?\"

1. Why did you choose 'which'?. Since the question is referring to 'the brothers', I.e people, we usually use 'who' or 'whom'.

2. Scheduled on --- means the date the appointment was set.
Scheduled for --- the intended date of the appointment.
Eg... The appointment was scheduled on Tuesday, 6th October, for next Thursday, 10th October.
