      I'm kinda worried n gancheong about the psle, but far from feeling burned-out. The above posts make me feel like I am not doing enough :oops:

      Heng the exams will be here soon. Too late to do anymore pushing. I'm shifting to lower gears n letting dd go on auto pilot next week onwards.

        zbear,the feeling after psle sucks...I felt so burnt out accompanying my son on his 'marathon'. daughter was in p2 and having her first sa2 then...but I was helpless and couldn't go near to any books. my shoulders ached and I felt so breathless.

        bebebub,
        it's too near to psle to go full gear...don't allow the child to be burnt out at this point in time.

          Last year, results out on Friday.[/quote]

          actually we may be able to get hints if we observe school calendars. Some sec schools has already indicatively put their semester 2 calendar for Open house out. Normally open house is the 1st Sat after results release?

            I like this blog written by this blogger.

            \"He went on to say that many parents in our society got it the other way round. Many pursue their careers and leave their babies and little ones with others, be it grandparents, babysitters, maids, childcare. Ten years later, the mothers start to resign from their job to stay home, because PSLE is coming, they’ve got to be there for their kids to make sure they do well for it!

            “But by then it is too late,” he said, “If you can, stay home for your kids, especially during the early years.”

              Stay at home for the kids…watch over them as they grow.

              Don’t quit your job or take no pay leave because of PSLE.
              There are highs and lows being a SAHM…but it is worth it.

              All the best to the kids sitting for PSLE…you have put in lots of effort and at this point in time, rest well for the marathon.
              Focus on your own paper, ignore what goes on around you.

                OMG... haze is back and some of us at home has viral attack.

                🙏 very hard that ds is free from all the viral and haze impact till 1st October.... What bad timing for haze to be back.

                Now it sets me wondering, what happens if a child has fever and is unwell during PSLE??? I know for extreme cases like dengue fever, they used prelim results. But what about fever, respiratory issues ? These are enough to make the child lose concentration.

                  psle is always the time haze is around.

                  frustrating to have to put up with this year after year.

                    dd1 was telling me that if haze is back, ds can have his PSLE in a airconditioned room... I was like I hope he don't fall sick before that.

                    Guess we have to step up on :
                    * Green bean soup
                    * Manuka honey
                    * Barley water
                    * non deep-fried home cook food
                    * Lots of rest

                    Just wondering if we should go easy this week or just continue to work on revision papers and problem areas.

                      focus on the weak areas…don’t stretch too much or you guys will go into panic zone…drink more water or barley. stay indoors and rest…Listening Comprehension this Friday…make sure he listens carefully and don’t jump to conclusion.

                      eat at home more during this period…food handling is safer.

                        not too sure if i am doing it right,

                        i have stop all writting work.

                        Science:
                        i get DS to revise all the past year paper he had done, especially those with correction, and also to revise on his school worksheet.

                        English Paper 1:
                        Made him read through compo and memorise good paragraph and phrase
                        English Paper 2:
                        focus on his weaker areas, which is the Synthesis and Transformation and Compre

                        Chinese Paper 1:
                        same as Eng Paper, read Compo and memorise good phase
                        Chinese Paper 2:
                        focus on Compre which he is weaker at

                        Math:
                        no more drilling on paper
                        just practice on topic he is weaker at, he is really bad at speed

                        i am not stressing him anymore, just remind him to do his revise on his own now
                        and get him to rest as much as possible

                        2 more weeks to go, hang in there!
