I like this blog written by this blogger.

\"He went on to say that many parents in our society got it the other way round. Many pursue their careers and leave their babies and little ones with others, be it grandparents, babysitters, maids, childcare. Ten years later, the mothers start to resign from their job to stay home, because PSLE is coming, they’ve got to be there for their kids to make sure they do well for it!

“But by then it is too late,” he said, “If you can, stay home for your kids, especially during the early years.”

I don't agree with this blogger.

Not everyone has the luck to be SAHM from the birth of their children, especially living in SIN.

Being SAHM doesn't guarantee that the child will do well in PSLE n being FTWM doesn't mean that the child wont do well in PSLE.

What is more important is the quality time n priority of the parent given to the child regardless of SAHM or FTWM.

Its never too late even if you don't stay at home from birth. I am speaking from my own personal experience n I know many FTWMs are in the same shoes as I am.

On top of that, SAHM or FTWM.... most importantly is build up children with the right character and mannerism.... PSLE is not everything! :celebrate:

Being happy is important for one's sanity.

As a mum and wife, I guess happiness affects everyone in the family.
PSLE is not everything...although it drives parents :siao: with the preparation.

PSLE is just one of the many major exams...if you feel that you have done your part, sit back.

There is PSLE listening comprehension this Friday.
                  Remember to listen carefully.

Just want to drop a note to all (in case I got busy with work and forgot later) to wish all parents and kids having PSLE this year All the Best. Hope all the PSLE kids are in their top performing form to give their best shot!

(esp. for all my dear frens in KSP - keep up the energy for the last sprint this year!)

PETALING JAYA, Sept 15 — If there’s one thing schoolchildren wished their parents would ask them more of, it is: “How are you?” and not “How did you do in your exam?”

This is what schoolchildren, as young as 11 to 12, told Enrich Counselling and Theraphy Centre community counsellor Yvonne Lee.
“They are under the impression their parents are more concerned about their academic performances than their well being,” she said.

True. I have tried to discipline myself to ask "How was your day?" and "Anything interesting happen today?" first, before checking up on performance and grades. It took a while to instil the habit!
