      Hi,

We’ll be going to Melbourne in early April, bring my boys (age 4 & 2). What are some fun things to do there with the kids? My older boy doesn’t really fancy western food, is it easy to get asian food there?

It should be Autumn there in early April. But heard that weather changes are erratic and you can experience 4 seasons in a single day??

Appreciate any advice on travelling there.

      TIA!

Fun Things to do with Kids

        1. Puffy Billy Steam Train

        2. Philips Island to see pengiuns

        3. Sovereign Hill. Don’t miss the NIGHT show.

Very easy to get asian food in Melbourne. Lots of migrants and asian university students there to create demands.

Been to some of the above places many years ago on a DIY tour. Nowadays, still popular DIY to Australia?

              cmm,

are you driving? Where u staying?
Chinatown is in city. Richmond has many asian eateries. Just visited MEL in Jan. My previous visit was more than a decade ago. Eating out are dearer now. This comparison is before the exchange rate.

                Hi father_of_3,

Won't be driving in Melbourne. We'll be staying in Rendezvous Hotel. How was your recent trip to MEL? Do share your experience! Tks! 😄

We had one of our best ever self-drive family holidays in Brisbane/Queensland/NSW recently! Apart from very helpful advice given by friends & Aussie Tourism Bd, we also had very prompt & good info given by the travellers/locals from the http://www.tripadvisor.com forum.

It did take lots of time in planning but at the end of the trip, every one of us thoroughly enjoyed the trip! 😄

Been to Melbourne about a year ago. We DIY. We rented a car there. For Melbourne CBD, we took the train. My kids were having a lot of fun.

Besides, Puffing Billy and penguins in Philip Island, we took a trip to Great Ocean Road right to Warnambool. Of course, the main attraction of GOR is Twelve Apostles.
