If BRK is provided, then the above trick may not work that well 😛

        Hi aloyboy,

I got problem when trying to book for hotel room in Tokyo.
For example, if I indicate 2 adults it's so much easier to get a room. However, when I indicate 2 adults + 1 kid, most hotel will show there are no rooms to accommodate 3 person ??

We did thought of not indicating our child upon booking but afraid that we will face problem upon checking in :slapshead: :nailbite:
For yr info, our child is 8 years old, definitely no way to hide him since he is so big size already 😉
Should be quite accommodating in Japan, except that hotel rooms in Tokyo are very tiny, so where is ur 8yo gonna sleep?

I know EU is quite sticky abt it, esp B&Bs.

          Thanks Aloyboy, Jetsetter

We intend to book a room with twin bed. Hubby sleep by himself and I can sleep with my boy 🙂

Yes, I know the hotel rooms in Japan are very tiny (same as HK) .
The last time we went Tokyo, son can still sleep in baby cot because he is small size (3 years old).

So meaning I can don't declare there is a child upon booking the room but just request for a twin bed room right ? 😉

There are five of us so booking rooms is more complicated. For bigger chains, i will just go ahead with a room for 4pax, sometimes have to indicate 3 pax only in booking to find rooms but as long as bedding is sufficient, eg family rooms or two doubles, i will just go ahead.

For small hotels or b&bs, i email first to double check how strict the policy is and extra charges esp if breakfast is included. Sometimes they are nice enough to provide extras foc when i explain my kids are small and small sized. I will go ahead with booking.com and agoda.com bookings if cheaprt then forward the booking details directly to the hotel.

How about local hotel, like Carlton hotel? Anyone knows of a cheaper rate?

According to this website, it costs $208 before tax and service charges for a premier double room at Carlton. Quite reasonable IMO.

                http://www.hotelsandphotos.com/collecti ... er-double/

Note there are two Carltons, one is opposite Raffles City, another is in Chinatown. The Chinatown one is called Carlton City Hotel.

                :thankyou:

Just came back from Tokyo. It was a reward for my boy after almost a year of PSLE stress!

I initially booked a triple room at Grand Pacific Le Daiba through Agoda as we had previously stayed there before. Agoda has the best rate then. The rooms are considerably big. The single beds(120cm) are wider than most of the hotels in Japan. If you are sharing bed with your kid, please check the size of the single beds. Some are only 90cm wide.

I cancelled my booking a few days b4 departure and booked a triple room at Tokyo Dome Hotel through Booking.com as I wanted a more convenient location. Agoda charged me a USD15 cancellation fee.

Hi, I have this confirm hotel booking on 1st and 2nd of December 2014,

2 nights stay in Caesar Hotel in Taipei main station.
I’ve booked through Agoda, however due to personal reason that I have to let
go, have paid 2 nights for $380.30, I am letting go at $190.
Agoda allow name change at no charge but no cancellation.

Do email me if you are interested.

                        Thanks
