My older boy just got into West Grove. personally when I notice the kids from Pioneer, they seem to be more " naughty type" compared to the kids of West Grove.

Cheers -

Hey Yippee,
As far as my research go last time after Rulang it was West Grove but since 2 yrs + since they change the principal Jurong West Pr has come up to be better... just that for me it might fall beyond the 2 km radius maybe :? where do u stay?
I'm staying near to River Valley High, Jurong West Central 1. I'm still thinking which school is better cos i'm thinking of doing PV in order to secure a place for my girl. My girl borned in 2005. Need to do PV this year.
Where do u stay? Is ur kid going to Pri 1 next yr? -

Hi yippee!
I don't stay in Jurong, and I do not know anything about the school there. Hence, I can't comment anything on the schools.
However, just to highlight to you one point. There is no such thing as \"secure a place\" once you are a PV. You will have a better chance but it doesn't imply your girl will definitely get into the school of your choice. Hope you don't have the misconception that doing PV means your girl will have a place in the school.

Hi i've signed up to do volunteery work for West Grove Primary school. Can i know what are the areas of work? My DD is born in 2005 so will be registering next year. Hope i made a right choice for her. Initially thought of signing up PV at Rulang Pri but the location is quite far from my place. :roll:

Hi mummies,
Anybody has any feedback about Xingnan? And does it require any balloting and volunteering?
Is St 81 within 1 km?
Pls advise. Thanks in advance!! -
Hi!
Please click http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/jurong-west for the school's balloting history.
Please click http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=426 for links to websites which give you an indication on the distance between your house and the school. If you want to be sure, you should go to SLA. -
Hi qms,
Thanks a lot for the links. But I not quite know how to read the graphs. hee… can guide?
Thanks a lot!!! -
Let’s take 2009 as an example.
No. of vacancies = 270
P1 Take-Up Rate = 36% => 36% of 270 taken up => 97 places taken => left with 173 places.
P2A Cumulative Take-Up Rate = 44% => 44% of 270 taken up => 119 places taken => 151 places left. It also means there were 22 applicants in P2A.
At the end of P2A, remaining places = 151. Of the 151 places, 76 will go to P2B, whereas 75 will go to P2C.
P2B APP = 1% => No. of applicants in P2B = 1% of 76 = 1
Hence, number of places left for P2C = 151 - 1 = 150. Hence, the Cumulative Take-Up Rate after P2B was 44%.
P2C APP = 84% => No. of applicants in P2C = 84% of 150 = 126.
No. of places left after P2C = 150 - 126 = 24. Hence, at the end of P2C, Cumulative Take Up Rate was 91%.
P2CS APP = 233% => No. of applicants in P2CS = 233% of 24 = 56. Hence, as 56 applicants vyed for 24 places, balloting was required for those staying 1-2 km from the school. Those who stayed within 1 km from the school were safe.
Hope the above clarifies! -

I didn't expect anyone to actually understand and verify those figures of ours
