        Hi folks,

I'm interested to find out more about NUSH. Sorry for the noob questions as I donch have much exposure to this sch. TIA.

What are the courses NUSH grads usually take in uni?

Can NUSH grads enrol in faculties other than Science or Engg?
I was told quite a number went to Accountancy, a few to Law.

:yikes: Yr 1 doing Yr 5 math??
This student is more of an exception than the norm right? :nailbite:
How do they assess him/her to know that he has the capability to skip 4 years? Who assesses? Or the student puts himself up for assessment??
Are there a lot of such geniuses in NUSH? šŸ˜“
          Wow.... :scared:

The unique feature about Nus High: it is a geek paradise. If a student has the talent, he can go far. The school does not try to hold you back base on your age.

They will be considered for the subject that they are taking.

For example,we had a year 1 who was best in mathematics for year 5.

                huh ?

you mean this Year 1 can know much more than the Year 5, even though Year 5 is still long way for him ?

                is he a genius ?
                which subject ?
                physics ?

There are many geniuses. Sadly, I'm not one of them.

It's not just about knowing more. A lot of it is about being careful. After all, quizzes, tests and exams is still a large fraction of the overall grade. Though, yes, I reckon he knows more about maths than a lot of the year 5s.

It is in mathematics, as stated.[/quote]This boy was from Hong kong from my DD Y1 batch of 2011. He accelerated Maths at Y5 level, Physics at Year 3 level. Believed he tops maths at Year 5. He stay till end of Y2 at NUSH and he got acceptance into Hong Kong University at the age of 15.

In the past there are 3/4 NUSH students who got \"accelerated \" into NUS before the 3rd or by the 4th year. Now it is kind of rare as the school indicated a minimum of 4 years before this is possible. Not too sure if they actually \"graduated\".

I supposed it is whether the university is willing to accept a \"high school drop-out\" šŸ˜‚

Dr Hang once said he was happily sad to 'lose' all these 'drop out ' who never graduate from NUSH b'cos there are rare specimens. Most uni in the world never fail to accept these 'drop out' who are ahead of their peers.

Interesting to note that number for medicine is more than Engineering.
                      Well Done.

Besides this Maths genius, are there also similar geniuses across Physics, Chemistry, Bio as well ?

as in : Year 1 do Year 5 or 6 (physics, chem, bio) projects / syllabus ?

who approve, to jump level ?
Head of department, Principal of NUS High ?

are these pupils Sg citizen or overseas ?

seems like NUS High groom a lot of geniuses
