I only know her EL paper 2 is bad, but din't even get to see the paper as not returned. Don't know oral and compo marks either, so not sure how she fare for EL overall. Heard from frens that their kids din't do well for EL paper 2 as well - paper pitch at too high a level?
How many marks is your dd's paper 2? Just curious your definition of bad same as mine
My fren's dd still scoring above 80

Oral and compo result out too, though didn't see paper
Same as paper 2, equally 惨

There are also a few in her class scoring above 80. But heard from quite a few who are at 60s and 70s, and even 50s. The 50s and 60s will have to depend on other components to hit baseline.

My questions and expectations nowadays very low hor.....1st question: can hit baseline? Next question: what is average range? 😉 You see, don't even dare look at high range..... 😓

my son is not the top...above average. but my younger one is the lower percentile kind...like you, I don't ask about class average because that will freak me out even more.
sleepy, we are in the same boat.

Bad results --- what is considered bad? Very relative.

Last SA1, my dd and her ex-classmate were talking about their EL results. Her friend told my dd that she scored very bad... Only 93.5. When my dd told me, I told her maybe she heard wrongly, maybe it was 83.5. How can 93.5 be considered bad?? She checked with her the next day and confirmed it was 93.5!!!
:faint: then my dd results must be borderline liao.

wait! 93.5% for the subject? isn't that an A???
anyway, 83.5% is also very good in my opinion...mind you, this is English.

                        Yup.. 93.5% for English.
So now I learn to take 'results very bad' with a pinch of salt.
Told my dd, imagine she had 'consoled' her friend.... She would be consoling someone who'd scored 15-20marks higher than herself. 😆
