With a T score of 248+2 …not sure any chance for Catholic high O level…? Catholic High is a SAP school so it should take in as 250 .

What are the pros and cons for IB compared to A?

Yes, Not so correct info for cedar ip.

I went to open house with a friend whose dd scored 250. Spoke to p. p said 250 may have to appeal if it's ip. Their o level cut-off is already 249 last year.
Hence, it's the p's discretion for appeal cases. She may admit students with as high as 247, depending on factors other than results.

This is assuming that this year COP remains at 251 or higher. If COP drops to 250, then likely she can get in. No harm putting it as a choice if that is the preferred school.

Agreed. Can put preferred school in first two or three choices and realistic choices for the rest. My d d 's friend missed the cedar cut off by six points, spoke personally with the cedar principal who said she might still want to try! Personally I think if that is the preferred school, go for it!

Your child has a good score, he/she will benefit more in a school with a higher COP. My suggestion is to go for a school closer to 250. The school environment and the student population will influence your child, hence it is important to choose the school carefully.

My dd scored 250+3 for her PSLE, for IP , anyone can advise which below schools have better chance of getting in, lived in the central.

1) Cedar
2) SCGS, or
3) CHIJ st nicholas.

Cedar and SCGS almost sure. St nicks high chance!

My son scored 252+1, his dream school is RI and HCI but apparently his score is a bit low. We live at Choa Chu Kang.
Can you please advise what’s the chance of getting into RVHS?
And how about below school compared with RVHS?
1. Bukit Panjang Govt. High
2. Nan Hua high School

COP is the score of the last pupil admitted into that school

Why should it have any bearing on the child's performance ?

A top scorer soon becomes playful and pay less attention in sec school will soon drop to the bottom in any school.

A bottom t-scorer will enters the school with trepidation and work hard at it will soon rise to the top, any school. These are oh so common stories.

The ex principal of a famouse school puts it : every one is starting at the same starting line. The tscore is history. How you perform is entirely on how you motivate yourself and manage your time
