No harm trying, right? How many people audition definitely varies from year to year. There's long distance and sprinting, and added together (including non-school team) they probably have about 12 or 13 people in a batch i think. -

Hi May I know what are the timing for the 3rd Lang? My DD wants to take Jap so will all the girls taking Jap travel together to the lang centre? Is it the one @ newton? Tks
blessmum4:
I took Japanese! Spanish wasn't offered in my year
I agree it takes so much commitment to do 3rd Lang, and often it drove me crazy. But you know, there are always people busier than you and yet coping better. So it's about management and passion, some people continue to take the subject out of passion, not because of how well they do in it.
There's a lot of difference between GG and GB, until now we have yet to really come to terms with it hahaha. I'd say they are very different, regarding what they value, their mottos, their history- everything is different. And of course they do different things during sessions as well! What i do know is that GB is a Christian organisation, so they do hymns and stuff!!
Why not give it a research?
As of now, the timing for 3rd lang if I'm not wrong, is every Friday from 3-6pm. For Japanese and French, they are held at the Newton campus, whereas German is held at the Bishan campus. Not too sure about Spanish though!
And yes, most students will take the MOELC bus from RGS to MOELC for their 3rd Lang lessons together.
1. DD intends to take 3rd lang but worried it may clash with the mindsports CCA (Chess). Anyone knows the CCA day for mindsport - International chess? I cant find the schedule on RGS website.
2. Also, any specific rules about school shoes? Must it be with shoe laces or velcro acceptable?
3. understand RGS has discount offer for Macbook, so when/how are we required to purchase the macbook?
4. For Chinese, is it also 1-1 or using the textbook series?
Thanks -

1. It won't clash. RGS makes Fridays the 3rd Lang days, and there will usually not be any CCA on that day. Unless it's competition season, then the teacher may request for training sessions.1. 2. At least 80% white, sole (like the thick base you see from the side) must be white. No striking colours or big logos like huge nike ticks. (actually i'm not sure if this rule still exists, but to be safe)
3 & 4. I'm not sure
You will most likely be briefed about it on Reporting Day, and that's when the Macbook sellers will come in.

Hi all , look at the matter, can I say that the student there mostly are very smart and I always hear from my girl school parents said that the pupils are high class human??? I am very concerns whether my girl can cook there ??? I am a mother and as father parent!! Hope can see more opinions from the yours. Thanks.
hello! I'm a current student at RGS. Hahaha I dont think that all of us are very high class or whatsoever, but I guess that is just a common stereotype of us! We are still just normal people after all
especially since we all get into our school based on merit, there is a good mix of students from various backgrounds!
Also we do have a kitchen in our school where we do home economics for a term in year 2! So hopefully your girl would be able to pick up some cooking then.
I think the concerned parent meant 'cope' -
