Hi experts,
My boy is born in Year 2010 going for P1 in Year 2017 and we are looking at Poi Ching School which is within 1km from our home. Can anyone enlighten me if I am still in time to register as member for futsing association? How is the process like?
TIA! -
Hi, for SHPS, must it be from anglican churches and not other churches?
-
Yes, St Hilda being an Anglican Church -
of course can only join under Anglican domain, can’t be joining any other church denomination. -

for Hokkien clan schools -
this year need minimum 4 years of contribution, then can receive the letter.
meaning those join less than 4 yrs can give up joining and doing VP liow?
Understand tenure is impt criteria, but it’s definitely not 4 years cut in stone. If all the other applicants are 6 yr or 10 yr, 4 yrs also no use. A bit like PSLE, depends on the ‘cohort’ you are with. If all other applicants say 1 year, then obviously 4 yrs will look very good.
Other factors that come into play is the amount of volunteer work you do with SHHK. I joined in some temple activities before, and learnt something about my culture and temple activities. Quite fun actually.[/quote]
SHHK’s selection criteria is still quite mysterious.
Between a member who is 6 years with HK but did only 10 hours of volunteering and another member who has a 2 years tenure but did 80 hours of volunteering, who will stand priority for that sacred referral letter?
Does anyone have any knowledge or experience to share on this? -
Hi
im staying in punggol and if I join Hokkien clan, does that mean I am eligible for phase 2B also? because I saw my neighbour son and daughter are now in nan chiau primary school -

I personally feel now Nan Chiau is very popular. If didn't stay within 1 km, chances of getting into the school is low even it is under Phrase 2B.Hi

May i know for the buddhist or church clan parents to register their kids in phase2B, have they receive letter from primary school to get their approval to register in phase2B?
For Christians, they need to get a letter from their pastors.
For Catholics, they require the parent’s baptism certificate.
For Hokkien Huay Kuan, they need a letter from the clan.
Not too sure for Buddhists…
Parents have to bring such documentation to the desired schools during Phase 2B. The schools and MOE do not issue any letters coz they won’t know which school you want to choose for your kid.
Hi,
so for Catholics, only require parents baptism cert? what about the child, need baptism cert? don’t need letter from pastor?
Thanks! -
Hi all!
I have just read all 145 pages of the thread and am going through a panic attack for my ds who'll register in 2018.
Wondering whether it'll be too late to join SHHK as its dragon year too? :slapshead: -
Hi… Just wondering if there are any paya lebar methodist church (PLMC) members here… Do i need to serve a number of hours in church to qualify for phase 2B? Must the child be member of the church as well or just the parent will do? Thanks in advance!
