IP Syllabus

For 2)RI will let you choose your subj combi at end of sec2 for sec3. They donβt expect everyone to be all-rounded at everything and would much rather the students develop their strengths.
For 3)I believe RI has no such limits. As long as you get into its program and pass, they will love to promote you. RI donβt really expect much of its students when it comes to HCL.
I have no way of knowing for 1) currently.
I stand correct until kena corrected for my above views=). -

Hmm i don't know whether you still needs this but I am thinking that its quite ok for IP school students to buy good books from sec1-4 for maths, since they will probably cover most of the materials anyway.Hi,
My child is in an IP school and I realise that they dont teach the topic according to the text book. Therefore it is pointless to buy the standard Express guide book for Sec 1 as the topic she is learning is not in the book.
Anyone can guide me what sort of guide books and practise books to buy for IP students? (I was told to buy anything from Sec1 to Sec4 !!!).
Thanks. -
Anymore input from other IP schools ? Thank you !

I remember when my child in Y1 , all the textbooks are Olevel
Pure Chemistry, Physics, Biology...
Also no need to buy Chinese textbooks...
They used Chinese Literature books, such as Water Margin, Red Chamber...
And not forgeting no English textbook....
The English is taught like that:
In Sleeping Beauty story - the Prince kiss the Princess to break the spell.
Is the Prince action correct???
In Cinderella Story , the Stepmother is she a really bad mother? -

I brought 10 yrs series and let her practise. Also I print Sec one test paper from the website for her to do. Will only do those topics that the school taught. Thanks for writing and sharing.

For students of RI, there are 5 core (compulsory) subjects for Yr3 & 4. They are
(1). English
(2). MT/HMT - those who took HMT in Yr1 & 2 will continue with HMT in Yr 3 & 4.
(3 & 4). 2 Mathematics
(5). Social Studies!
the other subjects are
3 Sciences
Geog
Hist
Lit
electives include
Computer Studies
3rd Lang
RSP
MEP
AEP
MSP & etc.
Min 8 subjects - 5 core plus 3 others : 5% of the Yr 3 cohort
To take 9 subjects - 5 core plus 3 others plus 1 elective, student must achieve an overall GPA of at least 3.2 : 85% of cohort
To take 10 subjects, student must achieve an overall GPA of at least 3.6 : 10% of cohort
Besides the subjects taken, there are many enrichment programmes (eg. moot parliament etc), leadership programmes and Raffles' own gitfted pull-out programme (RA) and CCA (competitions) fighting for the students time and commitment.
It's really not easy to be a student nowadays, more so for students in a school with so many super-achievers. -
How do you find the Tr teaching the IP curriculum, at Eunoia JC ?

Don't think this JC opens until next year.
