I sometimes wish my heart can be harder and so I don't get bullied ... ridiculous to be bullied by a maid some more. Kept giving her chances since she owed a lot of $ since she transferred and yet to even pay up 1st employer. :frustrated:

I think she wanted to mess with my new maid as she knows my girl is underage (I only knew of recently). Am glad new maid is a nice girl!

Thankfully, it's all over now!

Hi blurqueen, Tks for sharing, U really did the right thing for going tru all the trouble to ban yr maid frm coming back. :celebrate: not many employers would go tru all that trouble.

My mum told me about the missing ang pow after a week when she found out, I did not check her bag then. There are only 4 of us at home that dayand my grl wont touch it , that i can confirm. I even doubted my mum but shes rather alert abt money and went tru a lot of searching, thinking etc. before she mention her missing angpow.
My maid does not have an off day and has 19 bucks left frm her last employer. On the first day of cny we gave her ang pow and the next day she asked for a transfer, in the past most maids dnt ask for transfer just after receiving angpow. As a matter of fact they all work better after receiving. No doubt she does nt have a off day, she goes out of the house everyday for marketing or to wash my car. i know its futile to check her bag after a week cos shes quite smart and could hv sent it back to Indonesia as she desperately need money and dont want to go home.
Actually imher third employer, when I frst interviewed her she told me her Ist employer threw her after one month cos she stole bread. She lasted 3 days in her 2nd emplyers place as she claim she couldnt stand the kids there and her employer would not allow her into the kitchen at nite and not allowed to call home unless on special days.(does not own a h|p but intends to buy one.)
My mum could not believe she took the ang pow as she appeared to b a very sweet and soft spoken person and would return all money that she found during washing... Money was also missing frm my mums drawer. a small wallet with a mix of coins, my mum was shocked when she checked the coins, all the one dollar coins was missing leaving behind the smaller ones. My mum is so positive about the coins as there are 12 one dollar coins missing.
We did not accuse her but asked her to help look forthe angpow...suggessted she check plastic bags but she just went thru the motion and dont seem to bother. We decided to keep quiet and occasionally ask whether she saw the angpow when she cleaned the house. She would ask for a transfer if we mention the angpow two days after. My mums just hoping that she would say she found it. She says she feels uncomfortable working with us. 2 weeks back she told my mum not to call the cops or tell the agent anything but my mum did not ask about what.
yesterday she insisted that we take her back to the agent as she no longer wish to continue work and is now on strike. Btw shes now in my kitchen since afternoon and wont do anything.
yesterday my dd found soap in her cup when she filled it up to brush her teeth. I didnt want to ask her cos I know she was not too happy with me yesterday when I mentioned M.O.M,,, I brought the soapy water to the agent and he said to report her to the cops if we wnted to but ppl will laugh at us for doing so. Hes still gonna transfer her the 4th time. I had to take a maid in haste again as my mum needs someone.
The agent says tht if we report it will hinder my application for the new maid so I have kept the soapy water for the cops after my maid is confirmed.
I know i have no evidence but this is just to stop her frm hurting others as my agent wants his loan back and will keep transfering.
What do u advise?

I have to bring my helper to the embassy to get a 'home leave stamp' on her passport as she is going back for 2 weeks end of March.

As this is the first time I am going down there, can anyone advise me:

1. What is the best time to go there? Early morn? I am planning to make a trip there on this coming monday.

2. What is the procedure once I get there.

3. How long will it take?

4. Do I need to bring anything else besides her passport ie helper's photos etc ..

Can't advise you on the above, but you can engage the help of a maid agency to do on your behalf for a fee. But if i am not mistaken if you renew your insurance through them, they may even do it for you FOC.

Thats the whole thing we most of the time dont have evidences.. how to keep evidences :? if u kept the money take a photo then later no money take photo again :?

Anyways bad maids will never have the job whereever they go as many times as they go so try finding another one and then u can think wat u wanna do with this one...

Wow, must have been real headache for you....
When you speak with the agent, does it help if you record the conversation? My friend appeal with MOM coz quota up for the year. She used video and audio tapes as 'proof' and it helped...

Ugh. And so my maid problems hasn't ended.


Today, at my mum's, my mum and aunt revealed to me that the maid has cried and said that I have accused her of spoiling the juicer (read my story a few pages back) when actually she heard me opening the tap. She said she merely put the juicer in the sink to clean. But *I* was the one who actually wet the juicer.

I was so angry! Why would I do such a thing? I could use many other things to play this game with her but why would I spoil my juicer just to accuse her? :? And I remembered the moment I saw the juicer, I shouted for her, and I was shaking the juicer hard, for the water to come out. Also, she's the kind who when confronted, and for something she never did, she would deny it vehemently. But when I confronted her about the juicer, she kept quiet. And then went behind my back to tell my mum and aunt. And still told my aunt not to tell me!

I was so disgusted with her that I left her tonight at my mum's because my husband wouldn't be home tonight and I really don't know how to face someone so disgusting. Yes I was all hands and legs handling 3 dogs & a toddler but I must say I'm happy. I feel light.

She wants a transfer, fine. I'm going to send her back to agency on Saturday. I really can't live with someone so fake.

hi auntyM and lovekidsverymuch, Yup Im really having a big headache especially the last few days. Well Ive been to the agent and selected a filipina in haste. Another 2 time transfer maid. I hv to apply as 2nd maid just to give the indon a transfer. My maid was on strike since yesterday frm 1pm till 3 pm today. This is to teach us a lesson not to mention angpow again. All she said is she wants a transfer and want to get out of the house. She only started to work when she heard the agent call to bring her for an interview. Ahhh! at last, clenching her fist, crying and going on strike work. Got what she wanted! I told her Im not going to release her until my maid is confirmed and if she decides to continue curling up in a corner she may do so but Ill call the cops not the agent and theres no transfer( actually dont know why call the cops)

I really think that MOM should limit te no. of transfers for maids. They are getting too smart and choose their employers while agents are making frm us.
oh yes auntyM , I will remember to record in future. I normally make the maid write down their reasons for leaving my home if they dnt wnt to work for me.

Let her curl up, go to sleep better take video of tv screen with date and time then the maid.... At least when she turn around and accuse you of 'whatever', you have proof of her 'strike' too!
Some agencies and other maids will 'teach' your maid how to irritate employer..

The seasoned maids will wrap small jewellery(like gold ring) with stone and throw over to house next door..they exchange so employer can't catch them.. When they meet up outside they will exchange back and sell the jewellery ...

Now you know how come we have so many new pawnshop, modern English speaking ones...
