not sure why TJC doesn't seem to do marketing of her IP programme.
Frankly, little is known about her IP programme, inspite of being more established, than the others.

I agree n I find it very strange.
During my time (donkey years ago), TJC is one of the best JCs n its very difficult to get in.
I suppose due to its long time establishment, everyone feels its able to maintain its standard, thus, attaining IP status.
However, I cant kept noticing that over the years, TJC is not as competitive as the top JCs (although its O level entry is still high).
I don't have the statistics n info and I may be wrong but I think TJC doesn't produce 'startling' A level results. Its not in the top 5 JCs this year.
If I have offended anyone from TJC, pls pardon me as its just my opinion n I hope you can correct me if I am wrong.
I know of recent past graduates from TJC obtaining overseas university scholarships and students who chose TJC over VJC for a less stressful environment.
Most JCs do not publish their A level results now so we do not know about TJC's performance but since their intakes are high ability O level performers, I have no doubt about their A level results.
These days, there are many JCs which retain their students at JC1 for purpose of obtaining better overall A level performance for the schools. I do not see TJC following this trend to impress the public which is 'ethical'.
Afterall, it's MOE's wish to keep top schools in low profile now though some schools are still trying hard to 'market' themselves.
Above are just my personal opinion and observation.

Tjc is definitely not the top tier school nor it aspires to be one. It takes one to be familiar with tjc’s culture and philosophy to realise that it is a class of its own. Because of its low profile, little is known of the school.
Parents who sent their kids to elite schools or rich men schools are definitely more in tuned and passionate with discussion in this forum. The quietness of a school forum should not be used to measure the popularity of the school. -
Comparing the year 2003, Rgs intake is dropping from 450 to 400. Those schools did not want to drop their cop as it will result student quality for those top schools. As I think paper is getting more easy and a lot of students will make mistakes here and there. This will result in EESIS also dropped. I called moe they did not announce the top 10% cop and they only tell me the cop of EESIS. This year EESIS cop remains the same as last year which is 258. Dsa of Rgs took 200 places, s1 posting is only 200, may be 190 as school usually has some places for appeal. Hope Rgs will remain the same intake as this year 400 places.

IMHO, the comparison of COP between different years is meaningless as ultimately, the T-score is a measure against a particular year’s cohort and not an objective measure across different years’ cohorts. The COP for RI may be 256 this year as compared to 261 in 2011 but it is still the highest COP among the secondary schools, and RI still take in the top few % of each year’s cohort regardless of its COP. A drop in COP thus does not denote any drop in standards.
As pointed out in the earlier posts, this year’s top 10% T-score is likely 248 as compared to 250 for the earlier years.
2012 PSLE COP was higher also could be due to a larger cohort (year of Dragon babies)
With the trend of PSLE papers getting easier, it could be expected that the T-score would be more concentrated among the mean. The COP will likely trend lower in the coming years. There may be intentional moves to distribute the students around to perhaps slowly reverse the overly-elitist strategy pursued for the past 2 decades. The mantra, "Every School is a good School" is perhaps working? -
ya, previous years especially the year before can only be use as a reference as every year it’s different.

Praying hard that this is happening...MOE keep changing the exam format and syllabus every few years.

I sympathise with the 2015 n subsequent years’ PSLE parents/students. MOE kept changing until its very difficult to guage what to expect.

I hope MOE will mandate their teachers to attend regular curriculum training based on new syllabus. -

The new psle English format (2015 : pioneer testing batch) is more difficult than this year's last batch of English.
Since English paper expected to be harder next year, maybe Students may perform less well than this batch, due to English -
Hopefully Rgs and ri will take the same intake as this year 400. As result, more students will get into these schools. I heard some top school’s principle intend to reduce their intake as they think they need to
Maintain the quality of the school. I hope the intake of those schools don’t reduce so that more students can study there. (2003 450 reduce to 2014 400), there is more than 10% reduce. May be there are more no to reduce if the cop is dropping.
