If I'm not wrong, school will give the name tag to P1 girls few weeks after school opens.
The 1-2 weeks, P1 girls will be given a tag to hang round their neck. -
Hi, my girl is going Pri 1 next yr. According to the list, I am supposed to get a basket for her (abt 90cmx 45cm) which seems quite big. Wondering should I get round or rectangular basket? Any parent can advice? Thanks.

Hi PrincessHK, my girl is going P1 next year too. I asked a teacher during orientation about the basket, it's for the girls to store books or other stuff under their desks. I guess it should be rectangular.
Wonder if it is a common practice for all girls? can the other parents advise? thanks! -
yes it’s common practice. It’s so that the books/papers don’t move around under the desk, and also easier for them to carry back home at the end of each school term.
The girls usually leave some books/exercise books in school throughout the term. -
Hi Mamemo & Lexis, thanks for the helpful info. So I assumed the basket is meant to be placed on the floor under the desk as 90cm is quite tall? :scratchhead:
Can any mummies advise where can I buy \"Perfect Match Health Education Textbook Pri 1\"? The sch bookshop doesn't sell. Can't find it in Popular too. Thanks. -
my daughter is also going to P1 next year…
just realised that the measurements for the basket were huge…
90cm seems quite tall… are the tables in school so tall?..
any parents out there who have gotten the basket can post location here?..
tried to find it in neighbourhood areas but couldn’t… -
Haha it's not 90 cm Tall
As long as it fits a4 notepad or a textbook it will work fine. They put it under their desk (not on the floor) - there's a slot for them to insert stuff.
you can get this type of basket from HDB sundry shops - those selling pails, mops etc. nothing special, looks like this type. I got mine from the AMK Ave 4 (near block 622) sundry shop a few years back. Can also try Japan Home.
