Any idea why the COP dropped so much? Quite unbelievable.

      Yes, COP 245.
There's a sudden raise of COP for affiliates from 225 to 231. I reckon quite a number of SNG Pri couldn't get in. That leaves more vacancy for non affiliates.
This benefit the non affiliates but SNG Pri girls are affected. Many non affiliates are very glad to get into SNG Sec whom they have thought no chance at all.
Among the Full Sec schools- SCGS, Mgs and SNG, SNG is thr only school that have raise its COP for affiliates from 220 to 231 since last year.
SCGS and Mgs still cap its cop for affiliates to 220. Thus its COP is lowered too but at 247.

      Strange !

Why st nicholas raise cop to 231 for her girls, while Scgs did not raise, still remain at 220 ?

      220 and 231 ... 11 points : big difference

CHS COP for affiliates is 240.

SNGS COP for affiliates is 230 this year (5 points up from last year) and next year, it’ll be 235. Will be reviewed after that.

I guess it does not really matter as there is no affiliation for the IP Stream, so there’s no need for COP-comparison or equality between the three schools.

Under MOE policy, admission into the IP is strictly by merit.

Raising the COP for its affiliate Pri students lies entirely on the Principal of that school.
Wonder how parents of the affiliate Pri section feel about this raise in COP from 220 to 225 then to 231 and eventually 235??

Perhaps the school trying to close up the gap between affliated O level and outsiders O level intake : by a narrow margin difference, so as to increase the quality of overall Sec 1 intake

Hence, perhaps slowly increase by 5 points upward, going forward each year

It is not true that the school principal has the entire authority on the raising of COP. The school principal usually has to get the support of the strong alumni and get the endorsement (or approval) of MOE.

If I'm not wrong, school will give the name tag to P1 girls few weeks after school opens.
The 1-2 weeks, P1 girls will be given a tag to hang round their neck.
