Till now I still cannot find CF psle results as to how many % score A/A* and B/C catergory for each subject. I personally feel the highest psle score achieved by the brightest kid does not reflect how well the school has performed academically.

The mean for the school psle was around 21x. HCL we had 100% pass.
For A/A%, all subjects we achieved more than 50% of the cohort getting it. For all subjects (except tamil), we had in terms of % higher than national for A/A*. For passing rate, all subjects more than 90% for cfs.

      Hope this helps!

my son in p5 this year, he has opt in for HCL but did badly. I decided to drop him out next year. However I been informed by the Sch that he will remain in the same class during all subjects including CL lesson and he will be taught HCL syllabus with the rest of the class. The other differences is he does not need to sit for the HCL exam since he has dropped out.

The arrangement doesnt sound right to me. As I dropped him becos he is weak and cannot cope. Are there any other students facing the same situation ? Has this been the arrangement for all previous years ?

        Thanks for sharing.
My boy also did HCL for past 2 years. He is either just fail or just pass for the HCL paper for P5. He did move to 55 to 65 range in P6 but not impressive grades. From what I know is that the standard is cfs is quite high and I know that. So I am accepting his \"poor\" grades for HCL. With HCL classes, they had more practices with comprehension and compo which I think it helps in their normal Chinese.

On a positive note, my boy got a merit for his HCL for psle and I guess it was worth it after all and he is not as afraid of HCL and even willing to try for HCL in sec school. But not without some external help from his tutor. πŸ™‚

I think you can insist to change class if you want. It is possible as I know of cases like this and the kid did change class. But end outcome still depends on school.

Hope that helps. All the best.

          Hi Snggy

Tks for sharing. Unlike yr son, ds only gets 30 - 40 for P5 exams. it is a big gap to passing let alone get 60 marks range. I will try to insist to have him change class if the school cannot accommodate to have him move to another class conducting Pu Hua during MT lesson. I still hoping I dont have to do that as I also dont feel comfortable putting him in a new class and with new teachers for P6.

So happy ... I rcvd call from school that instead of grouping students taking HMT and Pu Hua in the same class and exposed them to HMT syllabus. School has made changes to their initial arrangement for such students whom have dropped HMT to join other class conducting Pu Hua lessons. πŸ™‚

Chongfu. Will being 1km-2km still stand a chance?
