yes, you are supposed to take the ring out, put the button through then put the ring back.

Like Song22, we put ours in, sewed them in and have washed them this way ever since. lol 😄 buttons are less shiny but still look ok.

        teddy dad:

My DS will be in Year 1 and looking forward to the orientation.

When we were buying uniform and books, there were sales reps selling Time Magazine subscription outside the bookshop. They told us that every Friday the year 1 student would have to read the Time Magazine in preparation for GP. The rep said that it is compulsory for Sec 2. I bought a subscription thinking that it would be beneficial for my other DS who is Year 5 of another school's IP

Meanwhile, can any parent enlighten if this is truly the case?

        Thanks!

My DS just completed his 1st yr. It is true they read different publications every week such as Straits Times, Zaobao and Times. The school subscribes and issues to the boys to read (2 share a copy). I think the subscription fees are covered through some miscellaneous fees we pay.

Thank you for your inputs. Wonder if I should have paid the subscription if the school would do so! Somehow the sales rep gave me the impression that every student has to subscribe to Times. Now that I have paid - I will make sure the two boys read them! (And I occassionally!)

I thought I was the only one struggling with it. LOL. Could the button be just attached to the flap of the pocket instead of the entire pocket. It is really hard to fasten the button to the entire pocket!

It doesn’t look nice if you fasten to the flap only, cos the flap will continue to flap (for want of a better word). haha.

Try to thread the button (without the ring) through both buttonholes and sew it in like we did. you may need to snip the button holes a little bit to make them a little wider - that should make the threading in and general handling of the buttons easier.

hope that helps, and welcome to HCI!

              Orientation starts today 🕺 !

Very difficult (for me) to wake up so early after such a long break 😉 .

As DS wore his shoes this morning, he said,\"it's s new beginning.\" 😄 .

Re the TIME mag subscription, if i recall correctly, when the time comes, you can indicate you already have a subscription, and you won’t be charged for it when the school arranges for the subscription.

Except that maybe then you have to bring your own copy to school? Not sure what happens cos we subscribed via school.

Regarding the TIME subscription, i told the salesperson… I will subscribe when there is really a need or when school requested for it. So I did not sign up that day. Heehee…

We didn't sign up too as it may become white elephant if DS doesn't read it.
