Hm…now that the cop of top schools have come down again, does it mean above average and HA student performers have higher chances to get into these top schools in 2015?

Let’s face it. To someone who is consistently good and scoring 88 to 100 for most subjects, attaining 249-258 is not a daunting task for him/her at all. In fact, if we are talking about the top class in the PSLE cohort in a particular neighbourhood school, already more than 50% easily make it. That’s what happened to my Dd’s class this year.

2013’s PSLE papers were forthright easy. 2014’s papers were easy but tricky. What do you reckon this year’s papers will be like? In view that the top school’s cops have come down and mid-range schools have gone up, does it mean that average performers have to work harder than those in previous years and the HA performers will feel less stressed since getting into their dream top schools is much attainable with the drop in their cops?

            Hi,

I think 2015’s paper is easy and tricky as well. As the students will easy get mistakes and get low marks. I feel easy paper will get low cop. As most of the students always practice the difficult questions.

So basically, must be all rounded - can do both easy & difficult questions with as little careless mistakes as possible!

if questions are easy, all the more students have to be very careful. Once they become complacent, they will make careless mistakes.

Since my DS cannot do all easy or difficult questions plus very careless... :faint:

                      Bb mom,

You applied for extra time for PSLE? Btw, the mother tongue exemption goes all the way till JC right?

Not gonna apply for extra time. DS wants to speed thru so extra time doesn't help. And most times, during practices, he's able to complete the papers within the time frame.

And yes, exemption all the way. My only worry is if for some reason, moe offers eg Malay as a 3rd language, the way it was offered to DD, then how? In such instance, I recall reading that he will have to take that as MT??? Was confused with that... Any idea?
