Yes, I take royal jelly too. Have been taking RJ for about 6 years already and EPO about 10 years or so. RJ and EPO help improve healthy skin and strengthen the hair and nails.
The other supplements I take regularly are Multi Vits and Spirulina (for overall maintenance), and Dandelion Root (liver support).
Ahhhh, double dose
...
Currently I am only taking C and E and folic ... then for liver detox, I drink a full glass of warm water every morning before my bfast, cheap and effective
These two are on my shopping list for this weekend  Am def going to check them out ...
Will also read up on dandelion root and spirulina (vaguely heard of it) too. -
happy healthy shopping

I heard that for EPO, if you have fibroids, then you shouldnโt take as it will encourage the growth of the fibroids ? Is it true ?

Actually, i think take one of them is good enough. If I have to recommend, then I wd suggest EPO. It helps with hormonal balance for us ladies (esp during PMS period), good for skin and healthy nails and hair. If not mistaken, I think EPO is also part of the Omega family (i think it's Omega 6 - so good for the heart too)
Hi Scheweppes is it necessary to take both or either is good enuf? Which brand of RJ do u take?schweppes:

The reason why I started on RJ 6 years ago was because I went to Australia for holiday and visited some bee farm. The people there recommended that RJ is good for skin and being vain (and because on holiday...) just bought it. And ever since then, I just continued taking them. There's no particular brand that I buy for RJ - sometimes I switch around. I think Blackmores RJ is ok but really no preference.
Also, after I hit my late 30s... I realised my eyesight was failing, suffering from bloatedness, etc and I just wanted to take care of myself, esp healthwise. Anyway, need all the \"help\" I can get. For info, I don't go for facials or body massage. So, guess the EPO and RJ is \"working\". haha
Anyway, between the two, I think EPO good enough lah...

Itโs very strange for meโฆI started taking EPO and during that time, i found my menses delayed by 1 or 2 months. I stopped EPO and the menses is now regular. Whatโs the scientific explanation for this!?

Sori Westmom... i no scientist so not sure why menses was delayed. Ya, it does sound strange. Maybe different body got different reaction? Good that you shared your experience tho to keep all the mommies out there aware  -

Btw, I just googled and read the benefits of RJ. It's supposed to have anti-aging process. BUT for those of you allergic to honey or \"bee\" related products, best to stay away from RJ in case there is allergic reaction!! :celebrate: -
schweppes:
Yup, I agree with Schweppes.

This is based on my own experience lah ...
I have been doing some reading on EPO. One conclusion I have derived is that it is recommended for women with PMS or skin allergies. Because I do not suffer from PMS, I may consider NOT taking it after all because as Schweppes mentioned, different bodies react differently.
I remember when I was trying to conceive, I bought and took a multi-vit esp for conceiving women. It DID not agree with me at all. I suffered from severe constipation. I stopped taking that and my body system went back to normal. I took it as a sign that my body is 'doing fine' without additional 'help' from the supplements and just continued eating well.
That is why, until today I only take vit E (anti-aging, also vain mah
) and C (sensitive nose). I took glucosamine for a while but stopped because I am not suffering from any joint prob. So the bottom line is to do a bit of reading up and assess your body/health and decide whether you really need the supplements or not.
At most, best to consult doc/gynae b4 taking any supplements.
JMHO ....
