PSLE if score 150, where can the kid go?

My friend managed to get someone to tutor him and tried to encourage him along the way. In the end, he managed to get 160+. He is more motivated and doing pretty fine in secondary school. His tutor taught him every day throughout the June holidays and commented that it's a miracle that he managed to pull through. Don't lose heart yet. Yes there is. In my school (former) there's this class of repeat students. They take all foundation subjects.

The student can only retake PSLE if he/she retains.
It is unlike O level whereby can pay $ to retake the following year.
As far as I know for primary school, it will be a clear cut repeat case if maths gets a U grade (below 20 marks).

If you are not happy with the stream, u can
1. ask the child to work harder in Sec1 and get promoted to Sec 2 Normal Acad the next year; or
2. go to private school like St Francis Methodist, ACS International, Hwa Chong International, SJI International.

I know private schs like ACS international & SJI International (Hwa Chong Intl should be the same) has minimum PSLE cut off score above 200 ( i think).

well sometime it is just beyond the parents AND THE CHILD control.... for my niece, all the while, she score either just pass or fail. She is not lazy but she just can't concentrate and 'slow in the brain'... but her parents refuse to seek for help, such as looking for psychatric...sooo......to me both the parents and the child are suffering now...

No lah. It happened long ago and the mother was not convinced that her girl won't make it. In the end, she engaged another tutor when her girl went to P6 (I taught her girl during her last few months in P5 - took over from another tutor). Her girl was heart-broken cos she loved my teachings and was gaining lots of confidence as she had improved a lot under me. Her mother didn't believe that 240 was unattainable. I kept assuring her that I would do my best to help her girl but 240 was definitely impossible (her girl was in the worst class in a popular school). In the end, I heard from a student that she managed to score about 150 and the girl was :x cos she was sure that she could have scored better than that if I had continued to tutor her. I had another student who failed in earlier years but managed to pass from P5 onwards. She worked extra hard (she knew that she needed to spend 3 hours while others spent 1 hour on homework and never gave up). In the end she scored about 200 for her PSLE. She is doing very well in sec school and very good in add maths. Her sis managed to score 10 for O levels last year but her sis told me that she is doing better in her studies. :lol: I wonder how she'll do this year for her O level. When they were in primary schools, her sis was in the best class and used to look down on her. Working hard does make a difference. I used to tell my students that I don't mind that they are not clever compared to their peers but I hate lazy students. Very obvious isn't it?

at the moment, all private schools in Singapore are co-ed.
oh! were u given the impression that ACS Int, Hwa Chong Int and SJI Int are boys' school? Nay... their private \"arms\" are all co-ed.

fees are in the range of thousands per month.

Can consider calling San Yu Seventh Day Adventist School in Thomson. Believe it is a private secondary school, not very sure, but roughly believe it is a private co-edu secondary school.

Anybody know whether Assumption Pathlight and Northlight are the students well behave?

Private school I calculated the fees will be about SGD100k :shock: for 4 years of Secondary....
And 70% of them are from Overseas lie Malaysia/Vietnam/Thailand....
Also wonders are these International Students well behave...

Furthermore all these International schools like St Francis /ACS International they are all Christian schools.
For students non-christian will they find comfortable to be there?

Never seen police in my school.
Depends on the school really. Plus the cohort.

It's really a \"heng/suay\" (luck) thing.
I'd use \"rowdy\" on most NT classes but NA.... not exactly lah. \"terror\"... no lah.
but it really depends. I have the most wonderful NT class this year.
better behaved than my express. (Can u believe that?)
More hardworking, keen in studies than my express class.
This kinda class... I have two out of 7 in my school.
