Hi,
I have just received the circular for Chinese Enrichment (composition and comprehension), offered by an external vendor TL Edu Svs. The teacher is Jiang Xiaohong.
Does anyone have any feedback on this enrichment? Is it worthwhile? One session per week for 15 weeks (feels very long to me).
Thank you in advance. -
Congratulation to SNG 2014 Sec 4 for the excellent GCE ‘O’ Level results.
There will be ice cream treat for the SNG Pri XMM. -

my gal was in it for 4 years and we pulled out this years after reflecting there was not much use.
Feedbacks was pretty negative from our gal eg. Giving answers written on board to copy with no due explanations given.
Child had to com back and ask for explanations for comprehension from my wife.
We apparently didnt see much improvemnt either as class lesson was good enough.
Of course with addition guidance at home for all subjects.
Hope it helped.
regards,
Coach Leonard. -
Hi,
Am new to this forum. have questions regarding p1 registrations.
Understand that there was balloting for st nicks at phase 2a2 last year. Wondering if there is any risk of balloting for alumni in 2a1 as well in the near future?

as SNGS is a Full school :Hi,
Am new to this forum. have questions regarding p1 registrations.
Understand that there was balloting for st nicks at phase 2a2 last year.
Wondering if there is any risk of balloting for alumni in 2a1 as well in the near future?
Tks
if a lot of mothers (including mothers that had studied in ex Secondary school before, but they were not from ex SNGS primary school) rush forward to join Phase 2A1 alumni, especially those born in the year of the Dragon / Phoenix, Yes, balloting is possible in Phase 2A1.
if balloting were to arise in Phase 2A1 -
- usually those staying more than 2 km in 2A1 (alumni) : run the risk of balloting.
- all those remaining behind in 2A2 (old gals) : will be bypassed P1 registration, in that year (batch)
2014 (last year) Phase 2A2 balloting (girls born 2008)
24 children vying for : 14 vacancies
those 10 K2 kindergarten students (unlucky) who got balloted out, either :
- return in Phase 2C to ballot for a second time, try their luck again, if they happen to stay less than 1 km from SNGS, or
- If stay > 2 km : enrol into other primary schools first in Phase 2B / 2C, then fill up waitlist Transfer form, hope to be able to return to SNGS, one fine day.
outcome
If ever there come a day, whereby SNGS Phase 2A1 parents (alumni) also need to ballot -
what happen is : you can start to see some 2A1 parents staying > 2 km, begin anxiously to rent houses within 1 km, so as to avoid balloting in 2A1.
In the end, the number of 2A1 applicants inside the distance group (less than 1 km) will go up, increase : include those genuine staying less than 1 km for many years, plus 2A1 also renting houses.
currently, P1 Registration rules do not distinguish between those staying < 1 km for decade(s), vs. those start renting houses, a few months just before P1 Registration, due to start. -
The st nicks website has updated last years’ stats. 2 PRs didn’t get to ballot at all. The ballot was for SC staying outside 2km.
It is definitely possible for balloting in 2a1 for those staying >2km. However, coz the new requirements only just started, there might still be a chance of some parents who forgot to register as an alumni at least a year before 30 June or didn’t know you need to be a member for at least a year. But down the road, I foresee that it will be exclusively phase 2a1 and 2a2 will no longer be relevant to st nicks. Ya, chances are pp will start shifting nearer.
