      Hi raynreg and ctc61t,

Congrats, good to hear you have registered. Good decision to have your daughter go to mixed primary school. I personally think this would allow the kid to be more \"socially balanced\". By the time she reaches puberty and going to secondary school, its not too late also to choose a girls school.

I'm from a mixed school and from primary to a lousy neighborhood secondary school, was very \"gong gong\" during my generation 😄 I think my father was strict with our upbringing...Also depends who your kid mixes with, all my friends were \"straight and decent\" type, haha.

Personally, I would still let my children go to mixed secondary school, rather then having crush on the same sex, better to have teenage crushes on opposite sex. Of course, I do not encourage boyfriends/girlfriends at secondary level. All my kids will be taught properly about these boy/girl things...

      My two cents worth.

So can you or anyone guranteed that your grandkids are going to be the same sex as your kid?? Like me, I'm having headache liao cos I was from RGPS but I can't possibly send my son to RGPS right??? now have to crack my head..darn. 😞

          That's good logical reasoning 🙂

Headachemum, why worry for your grandkids? U should leave those worries to ur kids mah, LOL. They should find a spouse who studied in a good boys/mixed school if that is their concern, and not to rely on their parents to worry about their future generations 😉

If a DD goes to RGPS, ask her to get a husband from ACS or C. High.

If a DS gets into ACS or C. High, then ask him to get a wife from RGPS.

There are reports that said girls and boys learn differently. From the recent O level results, we can also see that most top students are from single sex schools - St Nich or C High.

When I was in sec sch, I noticed that usually good girls’ school tend to be located near good boys’ school leh. Why? Is it still the case now?

Anyway, I went to all girls’ kindergarten and from that age, I realised that when you have so many girls together, they tend to become very b*tchy, even more so than girls from mixed schools. Luckily, I mix well with others so I wasn’t their target but my poor cousin was. My pri sch and sec sch all mixed schs.

My DD is at mixed pri sch but that was more a choice of location rather than gender cos there seem to be only mixed pri schs near my home.

My DH was from mixed pri sch and then boys’ sec sch. Maybe I go ask him his opinion.

Same here, I told my DD that one day her DD will thank me for putting her in a good girl school.
