I’m still overseas when the application form closed (today) anyway for year 3 only the music stream is open and I can only do visual arts… Sooo looks like I’ll have to stay in my current school and continue getting bullied for another two years good luck to other applicants ^^

So I heard they have contributed 7 perfect scorers to the total of 66. Anyone here can confirm that?

If students need to go to SOTA after PSLE in the arts, do they see the aggregrate score? Is it important to have good score? For arts, what is the most important thing they look for. Thank you.

Yes Blue Pearl, they will still need to see that the PSLE score meets their minimum requirement. I personally think one would need a good PSLE score coz IB (or even O levels for that matter) isn't easy. So in order for the child to be able to cope with the art form and curriculum, a good PSLE score would be preferable.

As for what they look for in the arts, think you can check their website or ask during their open house or open symposium.

For students studying in the arts, what would be the career outlook like? I’ve tried searching for career information but there seems to be limited info on it. Anybody can advice where such info can be found? any good website to recommend?

May I ask the current VA students, when u submit your art portfolio, did u go for art classes to prep your portfolio or do it yourself at home?

My son is in Yr 3 now. We prepared our own portfolio for the audition even though my son attended NAFA art classes in primary school. We selected some from the art class but mostly from his primary school CCA projects (info-comm) as well as his drawing/drooling at home. It's important to be yourself and not dress up your portfolio. The interviewers can tell.

I have 2 questions:

(1) What is the difference between IBDP and IBCC? It seems like the art form requirement for IBCC is a lot more stringent than IBDP.
What is the percentage of students doing IBDP vs IBCC?

(2) What is the gender ratio like in SOTA? I am thinking the gender imbalance must be most obvious in Dance?
What about in VA, Theatre and Music? Is it more balanced?
