Hi

I just read the P5 slides in mconline.
Can I clarify, is there so called P5 maths banding to different classes based on P4 end of year maths result? How is this banding done, is it like 95 to 100 marks go to one class, 90 to 94 marks go to one class and so forth? What is the criteria used for the maths banding, if any? Thanks.

Can anyone share with me what are the duties of a class monitor?

According to my kid, some of the duties include:
Ensure that the class is not noisy when teacher is teaching or not around
Report the naughty incidents to teacher after warnings are given
Collect and carry books for teacher
Clean the blackboard and say 起立行礼
Bring classmate to general office or sick bay when needed
Help out the weaker ones in class if needed

By the way，my kid has a probation period till March and teacher will observe whether she is suitable to continue as monitor through the year. Also, sometimes teacher will rotate class monitor every term so as to give others a chance to try too, which I think is a very wise move such that nobody gets left out. Hence, must also pre-empt your kid not to be too disappointed if he is rotated out or take it that he did not perform well as class monitor.

Forgot to add, the 2 class monitor will also represent the class to give mandarin oranges to form teacher during Chinese New Year and kneel down and offer tea to form teacher during teacher's day. I was very happy when I heard this and was secretly hoping my kid could last through the year as I wanted her to learn importance of 尊师重道。Call me traditional perhaps, but these are precisely the little things and Chinese culture cultivation that I appreciate very much in Maha Bodhi that made me put my kid back there.

I attended the P4 session this year and asked the FT about maths banding in P5. So it is based on P4 maths results that they are banded into different classes. My assumption is that iso basing it on specific marks range, it's probably based on cohort ranking for maths performance?

Think there was suppose to be an expansion plan by building a new block. But don't know why now still no sound no picture
