thanks John Lim. I started with back pain months ago. the back pain is gone, but my legs are numb and tingling. Doctor said it is the disc problem.

He said surgery with putting screws in will help. anyone has gone through this?

Thanks for ur reply Jennifer. I did MRI, twice, 8 months apart. It showed my two discs torn. Now no more back pain, but both legs are numb and tingling, caused by the damaged discs. It is 1 year already. The symptoms on my legs did improved over this 1 year, but not gone…

I dont know if I should go for surgery or wait and see for some more time…

My FIL has disc degeneration. 2 specialists advised him to do surgery.

But the thought of downtime after the surgery deters him.

At the moment he goes for massages, does stretching exercises at home.

You are right…i am a bit reluctant of going for surgery because of the same reasons…Anyone has gone for surgery like this? What happen many years after the surgery…will all the problems come back?

My MIL's eldest sis has hers done in Msia many years ago.

Before that, she could not walk well.

My FIL has a low threshold for pain and the surgery is not 100% guarantee can resolve the problem. There are also risks in doing the operation.

I do no have similiar case like you.

But I have my C5 (5th neck bone) sitting on the spinal cord that connects to the back of the head.
Experienced numb & excruiating pain on left shoulder, shoulder plate and down to my arm.
Doc suggested ops which will cost $26,000.
It is to replace the bone with plastic.
but i never believe in ops unless its accident kind of case.
I spent less than $1K in TCM and healed 99.99%
I did accupunture, 整骨医疗 and sometimes 微波治疗。
Now, just go for massage once in a while for relaxation.

Western style : open up and replace with spare parts.
TCM style : slow and steady healing which may seemed "bluff" to some people who are eager to see results.
well, just my own experience and 2 cents IMHO.

Can you share where is this TCM? I heard 微波治疗 is effective especially for numbness .
