Hi, can anyone help me understand why there is a need for \"sabbatical week\"?


From the Sec 1 Parent Symposium, we were told that there are courses to be held during, e.g. the one-week March holidays, where the boys get to bid for those they are interested in.

Isn't it kind of stressful? Esp when the boys need to keep checking the EMB (he is still not use to checking it everyday). Also got to keep checking the wikis of the different subjects (like Science). :imdrowning:

Sabbaticals are held on Week 10 of the school term not during the hols, so the boys study for 9 weeks, and get to do fun stuff on week 10! I think they look forward to sabbaticals!


the boys will get used to checking EMB - it’s one of HCI’s ways of teaching them to be independent and responsible for their own learning. They will learn to check the various wiki’s, IVLEs etc soon enough.

hope he’s enjoying school otherwise!

Just to add on, there are only 3 sabbatical weeks per year if i am not wrong.
