Alumni meeting for Phase 2A1 members : with K2 kindergarten daughters, born in 2009


School warmly welcome all new members !

2015 P1 and P2 (students & mommies) :
will share their school life experiences, for 2A1 members who're having daughters coming to Primary 1 admission, next year (2016)

It is an opportunity to understand, or ask any questions about life, as a P1.

Principal / VP will update members, on the new site construction re-novation status @ Bukit Timah (Hillcrest), and the timing to start single session, next year

Rest of the AGM matter follow, after Principal briefing.

Date : Saturday, 28 March 2015

Time : 9 am to 12 noon
Gate 3 is opened from 8.30 am to 12.15 pm
After 12.15 pm : Gate 3 locked up

Venue : Lecture Theatre 1 (ground floor)
light lunch (makan & drinks) served, after the briefing.

Water Sports (Final) : Friday, 6 March

is a swimming event -
for good swimmers (P2 to P6) : able to swim a few lap, non-stop, in any stroke : butterfly / back / breast stroke / free-style

school holiday (16 to 22 March)

1. Is it confirmed that it will be single session at Hillcrest in 2016?
2. PE for Primary 1 includes swimming?
3. After moving back to Hillcrest, will the PE swimming lessons still be at clementi?
4. If the school becomes single session, so PE swimming lessons will be in the morning or afternoon? Do/can parents be at the pool to fetch the girls back?

1. Is it confirmed that it will be single session at Hillcrest in 2016?
Yes, Principal had already announced, confirmed this -
at \"Parents Meet Principal\" session inside Lecture Theatre 1, held in January 2015. School will start to shift back stuff, coming December 2015. Principal will also announce this news to the new Alumni members who just joined, at the coming AGM meeting.

2. PE for Primary 1 includes swimming ?
PE Swimming lessons : only meant for P2 students.
Not any other level.

for P1 : may note the difference.
PE Swimming : not for P1.
Swimming Cca : P1 however, are allowed to join Swimming, as a Cca.


3. After moving back to Hillcrest, will the PE swimming lessons still be at Clementi ?
After shift back : Principal did not mention which pool to go to, yet. But normally will choose one much closer to Hillcrest, for convenience to students.

4. If the school becomes single session, so PE swimming lessons will be in the morning or afternoon ?
Do/can parents be at the pool to fetch the girls back?
after school become single session (next year) -
PE swimming Time not decided, yet.
2016 P2 parents will be informed in due course, nearer the time.

PE Swimming lessons : only apply to P2 students.
P1 un-affected.

for P2 PE swimming -
only Parent Volunteer(s) designated, per class : allowed to chaperon girls, accompany them to the pool.
School arrange school bus Transport (those long, Tour bus) : to fetch students, to and fro, from school to pool, and back to school. Two or three classes assigned, go together on same day / timing, with PE Tr and PVs.

Can parents be at the pool, to fetch their daughter, back home ?
depend.
If pupil happen to have Cca, or Re-medial lessons to attend to on that very same day as PE Swimming : then your daughter still need to go back to school.

for single session (long hours, in school):-
Cca / Re-medial lessons for P3 to P6 / Learning Support program (LSP) for P1 / P2 English /Maths timing starting : 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

single session going to be long hours -
Lessons start from early morning 7.40 am until 1.45 pm school dismissal, plus afternoon still got Cca, plus other on-going activities, Some staff commented that actually don't even need any \"After school\" care centre.
Adult office working hours : from 9 to 6 pm
Single session here even longer : from 7.20 am to 5.30 pm

Next Friday : 6 march, Water Sports (Final)

Water Sports Timing : 10.30 am to 4.30 pm

those involved in the swimming competition, will be at the pool side, waiting for their turn, their name, to be called out : go to different lane in the competition pool (at least 1.8 metre, deep).

Have to be a competent swimmer, as the pool is deep


Those not involved -
remain in school for lessons, as per normal.
Not a school holiday

The same goes for Art Club.
My friends with P1 dd told me that some failed to get into R gymnastics Cca, nor Into Art Club Cca. They got channelled / assigned into some other third choice Cca instead, because they failed to get into their first choice, nor second choice Cca.

anyone know what kind of Art exposure, do our students get exposed to ? What do they get to learn, in Art Cca ?
pottery clay making, cartoon drawing, manga drawing, portrait still life drawing, oil painting, etc ?

Hi I thought that P1 doesn't have CCA? Was of the impression CCA only starts at p3? Please correct me if I'm wrong, thanks!
