Paya Lebar Methodist Girl's School (Secondary)

Read in the school website about this PL student named who contracted a form of child cancer but fought bravely to sit for the O Level Exams last year.
Our prayers are with her and may she make full recovery soon. -
Hi all! I have just graduated from PLMGSS in 2014 and will be glad to answer any enquiries about the school to the best of my abilities!

Hi all,
My dd is in sec 2 currently. Just asking around if pl provides in-house school notes standardized for the upper secondary level?
TIA

What is the cut off point last year (2014), for affliated Plmgs primary students ?
for affliated pupils (\"O\" level) : 205
refer Page 1
http://www.plmgss.moe.edu.sg/images/PDF ... cation.pdf
for Outsiders (\"O\" level) : 241
this parent here mentioned that school confirmed COP was 241, not 236
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum ... 6&start=40
discount of T-score : 241 - 205 = 36 points (huge) ! -

Sorry, but what do you mean by it? Do you mean to ask if pl provides their own notes for all students in upper sec? From what I know, they certainly do, but the notes may differ a little dependent on what subjects(pure/elec). And some teachers provide more notes to the students, notes that the teacher made themselves. Does this answer your question?Hi all,

241 for non affiliated students , but only few (about 1 class) are accepted.
205 for affiliated students, that’s the main bulk of the students in plmgss.
Such a huge gap in between. It’s tough for plmgss to raise their standards to compete with those like Anderson sec, tkgs, commonwealth, crescent girls, bpghs, nanhua, anglican…etc. These schools don’t have the burden of affiliated primary school students.
Need a lot more hardwork if plmgss wants to take a further leap in their school reputation. -

PLMGS didn't do well for last year 2014 GCE 'O' Level exam. -

Yup. I'm glad that there are notes for the students, but have the notes and revision notes made by different teachers been effective? What I heard that some schools have the entire dept pooling all the resources together to make common notes ie one type of notes shared among different teachers/classes, so that every child gets the best. Well, just a food for thought.

Aaven88, your chewbecca and chew bak kua really make my day!
Jokes aside, I agree with Chip n Dale that our last O levels’ batch did not do well overall. My dd was from the combined science but I heard that the result of pure Biology is far from good…no A1 student? Can the school leaders do something about it please as my dd2 is taking pure bio. But for pure Literature, 100% of students obtained distinctions. -
