Hi janet88, as a mother, I will also nag but I find that it is not going to work. You will be surprised that students’ handwriting get worse as they go up to higher level. Maybe it is due to the speed of fast writing. Must remind the kids to write these letter "C" and "L", "D" and "P" legibly. The letter "C" without beginning at the 2 o’clock position will result in a letter "L" being formed when the child begins from the 12 o’clock position. The letter "D" has to end at the bottom of 6 o’clock position. If the child ends at 9 o’clock position, the letter "D" will end up looking like letter "P".

        Legible handwriting is very important.

          Sembgal,

I totally agree with you on legible handwriting.
My daughter's handwriting can range so widely I feel as though I am reading another person's writing. So now, if I can't read her writing, I mark as WRONG...and when she protests, I will tell her PSLE markers will not crack their brains trying to decipher what her answers are...can't read clearly, too bad...don't get the marks, possibly fail. So, handwriting for now ok

Just to share - my DD’s handwriting is so beautiful at Pri School but sad to say her handwriting has deteriorated so much now that it’s impossible to read. She already got feedback that her handwriting is illegible n she will lose marks but she said no choice - at A levels, u r fighting against time.

I can only pray n hope that she won’t get penalized.

son's handwriting was illegible at primary school. warned him to buck up or else get penalized at psle. handwriting is much much better now...I am reminding him now that legible handwriting is good, but quality work also important.

march holidays in 2 weeks time. have to plan some revision in preparation for sa1...30% 😓 :nailbite:

My ds did revise for hmt last week but none of the stuff came out. Moreover the paper was tough. I do not think we will spend any more time in revising for CL (Wednesday). Instead, will be revising for science which is on thursday. Water & changes of state, plant reproduction & animal reproduction are all new topics plus all the topics in lower primary.

Science topical test on water today…Wednesday’s CA will be on water, heat and light. Back to the madness of touching on lower block science.

School calls it ‘holistic assessment’…perhaps to reduce the stress from parents. SA1 will be testing on water, electric circuit as well as lower block science.

😓 I have only received notice for the Chinese tests. Not sure if they will be doing the other subjects. My dd did not mention about other tests and she has not been doing any prep work.

I assumed she has no other CA1s :gloomy:

On the morning of first CA, ds1 declared happily,\"It feels like exams are already over!\" :skeptical: 😓 :faint:
