make me curious who is this Robin Goh. :?

Anyway, went last week with my family. At that time, only the Madagascar attraction was closed - although the carousel was opened (with the M characters).

Overall, the experience was positive; there were fairly many pp around but hardly had to queue for rides. Only queue was the Canopy ride at Jurassic Park. I don't take scary rides (my hubby did and he gave thumbs up for those - Jurassic, Human ride of BG, Canopy, and Mummy).

I really liked the Revenge of the mummy. no guts to take ride, but the walk inside the tomb to the ride was good enough for me (looks like a real tomb) - like going to museum although bits of it was evidently fake.

Shows had loads of pyrotechnics (waterworld, monster rocks), quite entertaining on the whole. Enjoyed the Lights/Camera Action thingy where they simulated a typhoon (or some strong winds thingy lah). The 4D Shrek show was excellent.

Staff were eager to please although you can tell they were quite green (eg the announcements always very soft, you cannot hear above the din of the conversations of fellow waiting patrons).

Prices of food was ok (had Mel's diner - meals less than $10) - definitely way less than what I would have to pay at Bird Park/Zoo.

What clinched it for me was that they gave $10 food and $5 retail vouchers (staff happy to combine the vouchers in your purchases).

Would go back again, but probably not enough times in a year to make worth an annual pass.

            Hi tankee,

First time to Universal studios (anywhere). Had just visited Ocean Park and Disneyland in HK - so could make a bit of comparison regarding the staff green/cooked. 😛

Also the 4D show compares well with the 3D show in HK Disney.

On observation on the staff was they were very eager to pleased and were very helpful. They made you feel welcome. It is very non-singaporean service standard.

I was just thinking of other theme parks that we did and I think the service level is quite high probably because they are new.

oh, btw, we reached there about 11am and left about 5+pm - totally bushed. Had 2 young kids and grandma with us.

Didn’t complete the whole park even if it’s the smallest. In part due to heavy rains in the afternoon which meant some time wasted (about an hour) in waiting for rain to abate.

Stuff missed includes the Dragon ride at Shrek world, seeing the Shrek/M characters, the Donkey thingy (supposed to be interactive).

The staff were good enough to walk around the park and loan us umbrellas to get from A to B…and they walk with us to retrieve the umbrella.

Hi, hquek, your next visit I recommend you go for the Enchanted Airways (dragon ride). The interactive Donkey was same concept as interactive Stitch in HK Disneyland, except it tries to talk local eg. Singapore is ERP (Every Road must Pay). Besides Waterworld, another not to be missed show is also Monster Rock show.

                    thanks for the elaboration 😄

we have been to other theme parks, and some of the rides (eg Shrek) and Show (waterworld) may be the same as those overseas. We were hoping they have modified these similar rides & shows to make them \"Uniquely Singapore\" 😄

Thanks! I caught the Monster Rock show - but missed a couple minutes in the front. It was okay, but I'm not a Rock person so half the music is too loud for me.
