oh, btw, we reached there about 11am and left about 5+pm - totally bushed. Had 2 young kids and grandma with us.

Didn’t complete the whole park even if it’s the smallest. In part due to heavy rains in the afternoon which meant some time wasted (about an hour) in waiting for rain to abate.

Stuff missed includes the Dragon ride at Shrek world, seeing the Shrek/M characters, the Donkey thingy (supposed to be interactive).

The staff were good enough to walk around the park and loan us umbrellas to get from A to B…and they walk with us to retrieve the umbrella.

Hi, hquek, your next visit I recommend you go for the Enchanted Airways (dragon ride). The interactive Donkey was same concept as interactive Stitch in HK Disneyland, except it tries to talk local eg. Singapore is ERP (Every Road must Pay). Besides Waterworld, another not to be missed show is also Monster Rock show.

          Hi tankee,

First time to Universal studios (anywhere). ......

          thanks for the elaboration 😄

we have been to other theme parks, and some of the rides (eg Shrek) and Show (waterworld) may be the same as those overseas. We were hoping they have modified these similar rides & shows to make them \"Uniquely Singapore\" 😄

hquek, how much did u pay for your tickets?

Standard weekday. $66 for adults and $48 for child. DS2 was free cos he's 3 (but he still can go for rides).

Thanks! I caught the Monster Rock show - but missed a couple minutes in the front. It was okay, but I'm not a Rock person so half the music is too loud for me.

If you're hoping they spout Singlish, forget it. The performers in Waterworld were all Caucasians; the ones in Monster Rock...I cannot tell (cos of makeup) but they made a funny reference to Marina Sands IR.

                    MMM:
Do share your experience on the hotel stay.

We stayed in Festive Hotel on last Thursday for one nite....Rate is $300++ for weekdays and $500++ for weekends. The hotel is very nicely done up and the family room is very spacious....Besides the king size bed and loft bed, there is still a queen size sofa bed..lighting in the room is in nice color....my girl enjoyed so much....the loft bed is quite high but after a while, she is handling it well...We did not allow her to sleep by herself in the loftbed cos we are worried she might woke up in the middle of the nite and may forgotten she is actually in a loft bed...kekeke...She enjoyed it very much...kid is also given a kids welcome pack upon check-in....Swimming pool in the hotel is not ready but you can go to HardRock Hotel for a good swim....We did that too....

Talking about the universal studio, the most enjoying part for me is the 4D Shrek movie....really entertaining, scary and fun....she was scared from the beginning....but i coaxed her to try to enjoy it and after that she was okay....Donkey LIVE is not that fantastic....It was like a sing along with Shrek's sidekick donkey in an interactive \"live show\" She took a few different rides in the park -Canopy Flyer, Magic Potin Spin- ferris wheel, King Julien's Beach Party Go Round- crazy carousel, Accelerator - spinning, twirling action....In the nite, its nice to walk around the resort...we went to watch the performance- Lake of Dreams...musical extravagana where fire, water and light are the star of the show.

My girl is so happy and keep asking me: Mummy, why are we only staying one nite....why not 2 nite, 3 nite or 4 nite....?? I told her only if I know how to print money...hahahha.... I feel that from age 4 is a good age to bring them to theme park.....We went to Taipei last Novemeber and she was also enjoying herself in Taipei Zoo watching the Panda and even in the small world and travelling with no complains...But when she was around 3, we brought her to HK Disneyland and she was still not enjoying so much....still grumpy and needs the afternoon nap.....[/quote]

Great review, HappyAvon! Looks like a must-go destination. Do you know when the pool will be ready?
