Thanks for the valuable feedback and advise, that’s also one of e concern we have if we didn’t manage to get into cat high at phase 2C. As I wish my kids can study in a SAP school.

My hubby is more supportive tt we enrol him to HWS, so when it’s mei mei’s turn 2 yrs later, no more headache. Just heart pain to know he has to wake up much earlier to prepare for school and if he stays bk after sch for cca etc, will miss e sch bus and pretty inconvenient to pick him via public transport.
4 more months to P1 registration exercise, dilemma and headache.

moving house would be another option, spending long hours on school bus sounds like a waste.

          Hi Zing,

Will think your best bet is to enrol in HWS in Phase 2A2. There are parents i know who lives in CCK and enrol their kids in RGPS…lagi worse.

Cat High is a minute away, that’s the ideal. But your number 2 is a girl, she will also can’t go into that school. Back to the drawing board.

Else just shoot for Guangyang as suggested in Phase 2C Supplementary. Do check that school out and see if that is what you want.

All the best for the upcoming registration.

since you've a girl, might as well enrol your son into HWS.

Otherwise if your son go Catholic High, your dd go HWS (as you're old gal under Phase 2A2), have logistic problem (both go different schools)
if both kids go to HWS school together same school bus, no logistic issue.
find out more about how Guangyang school environment is like first : before try balloting your luck at Catholic High Phase 2C, less than 1 km. All the best of luck in balloting (if you decide to try)

also need to check whether got any school bus go from HWS, to Bishan

That's a good point also. I didn't think of that when my girl goes into another school I still hv to send them to sch separately. Haha, guess it's a wiser choice to just enrol my son to HWS now.. And be prepared to endure 8 yrs of traffic jam to school every morning. 😉

At that time, traffic should be manageable. Just have to wake earlier ba.

Just called the school bus provider if they pick up students from Bishan... The operator gave me a surprised tone and asked why do I enrol my kid in HWS when I stay in Bishan? Should just enrol into a school in Bishan or <2 km. she say the driver normally only take in students staying within 2km from school as they need to take on other job as well. Haha, seems like I have another wake up call now.
                  No school bus... :slapshead:

Do you have parents or in-law, staying near HWS, or at least got school bus pass by their area ?

If Yes, Mon to Fri : let your child stay at their place, ask school bus to fetch them there. Weekend, then go back your Bishan house.

Or rent out your Bishan flat, in turn rent another place closer to HWS,

Or morning, drive your kids to school.
After school, send them to student care centre.
At night after work, then fetch them home yourself, before the centre close.

Did you try other numbers? There should be plenty more numbers to try. it is not a strange phenomenon..have heard of Sengkang/Punggol who enrol in HWS or for that matter, I have heard of CCK who balloted under Phase 2C into other prestigious primary schools xx km away. Bishan to HWS not that bad already.

                        Hi Zing,

just share my point of view.

HW is not so "hot" like NYPS, RGPS, therefore, the sch bus network tend to be limited. Unlike those very hot sch, a lot of kids come from all over the island, and transport is easily available. Even if u find sch bus, most likely it might be more expensive, or kids going to sch very early n coming home v late…

For eg, my ds used to go Peichun at TPY, but apparently it is not a popular sch for whampoa, every year new P1 limited to 3-4kids only. So its very hard to find transport to PeiChun especially it is double session sch.

Somehow CHS is very popular among Whampoa ppl surprisingly, just at my mum’s block there’s 3 kid including mine, so I can hv lesser problem w sch bus, n fees is comparable to PeiChun even though its further.

You may also like to check how many days of stay back needed even if eventually u can find transport, cos for those days u probaly need to pick up the kids urself.

I was a pv at HW ( hw is walking distance fr whampoa) for my elder ds, at times I regret my choice of choosing a further sch, my mum had to help me pick for 3days/wk due to ds stay back late. N worst when bus fee was $80 3yrs ago when my ds started p1…this yr my dd2 start p1… It is $150 n comes hm very late too.
