      Jennifer:

After all, every JC had to begin at some point.

      I agree with this.

But it seems like these days, more people are going for branded schools if the child's results are good.

The older JCs are still attracting the cream of the crop whereas the other JCs (which are established much later) are not.

      Hence the forever ranking issue.

Not really true. You can see here:

Take a look at SRJC, used to be a pretty neighbourhood school. Cut-off dropped from 20 in 2007 to 11 in 2014. It really depends on how a school performs and markets itself well.

Hi parents, can you pls recommend which laptop to get for dd for PW?

I know dd likes macbook air but I heard that the support for os is only 3 yrs?

How about others like Fujitsu Lifebook or Asus? What are the specs to look out for? Long battery, lightweight, good ram speed,…whatelse?

There’s a laptop fair at the poly next week. Can outsiders buy at these fairs? they offer freebies & 3 years warranty.

I don't go for these fairs as they give me headaches (too many pp!) 😓

Anyway, tks, just got a Dell Inspiron.

                  Hi Parents and JCs/Poly graduates

                  Came across this email:-

Essec Business School, the top business school in France, has been established since 1907. It has been consistently ranked high both in France and worldwide. Every year, the school trains between 4000-5000 business graduates (bachelor and masters). It set up its second campus in Singapore in 2005 to attract students who want a European education, with an Asian perspective.

                  Our Global BBA programme provides:
                  - International exposure (students study in at least 3 countries - Singapore/ France/ another one during their exchange programme)
                  - Innovative pedagogy based on the \"learning-by-doing\" approach. Our students accumulate at least 9 months of professional experience during their studies in order to be better prepared for the job market.
                  - 4 years programme delivered in English with the possibility for students to start their first two years in Singapore
                  - The ESSEC BBA programme is ranked number 1 in France. ESSEC is accredited by AACSB and EQUIS and several programmes are ranked among the best worldwide by the Financial Times.

Outstanding students may be selected for the International Business Education Alliance (IBEA) programme. They will have the opportunity to spend one semester in each of the following top business schools over the 4 years of studies:-
                  a) Mannheim Business (Germany)
                  b) Darla Moore School of Business (South Corolina, USA)
                  c) Fundação Getulio Vargas (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
                  d) Essec Business School (Cergy, France or Singapore)

Though the School originated in France, French language is not a prerequisite for admission to the Global BBA programme. The BBA course is conducted in English. Students will have the opportunity to learn French as one of the subjects offered.

Essec offers scholarships, especially for students choosing the Singapore track. We have 3 kinds of scholarships:
                  - “Pioneering Spirit Scholarship”: open to all applicants of the Singapore track - Up to 75% from total tuition fees
Criteria: 3 prizes available based on an essay
                  - Regional Diversity Scholarship: open to citizens from Asia-Pacific, Europe (except France), North America and South America
Up to 50% of total tuition fees - Criteria: Academic excellence and strong international background
                  - Singaporean Scholarship: open to Singaporeans - Criteria: Academic excellence

E-brochure is available from our website:-

                  http://www.essec.edu/programs/internati ... ogram.html

Sound very promising for any students who are interested in business administration.
