Recd this in my mailbox:
Dear Parents,
The NJC delegation will be heading down to the Parliament House tomorrow to pay tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Due to the restrictions in numbers, the delegation will consist of 10 staff and 70 student leaders.
For the students, they will be excused at 1.30pm to have a quick bite before assembling in the atrium at 2pm. The bus will ferry them to and fro the venue and they will be back before 5pm.
Thank you.

Hi Jennifer, like to know more so would appreciate if you can provide info -
What is the criteria for students to be able to stay in the boarding house?
Can local students stay?
What is the rental cost?
How many students per room?
Thanks. -

Boarding is part of the programme in NJ for year 1 to year 5 students. Compulsory though I heard that students with medical reasons can be exempted.Hi Jennifer, like to know more so would appreciate if you can provide info -

Last year, it was 6 weeks for the year 1 (Sept to Oct period) and 2 weeks for the year 5 (Feb).
This year it is 8 weeks for year 2 (Mar to May).
Fees are subsided by sch and govt.
We paid $ 640 for this year boarding.
Breakfast, dinner and supper are provided.
Laundry service said to be limited to 10 pieces of clothing each week.
Washing machine (comes with washing detergents) is $1.80 per usage.
According to ah boy, his dirty socks come out fully whitened.
2 students to a room.
I do not know whether local students can opt to board for whole year. U can call 6762 1426 to check with the boarding office at regular office hours. -
Jennifer:
My girl knew someone, Singaporean, who boarded permanently in NJC because both his parent are working overseas.

Thanks Jennifer n JJ11111.
It appears that for local students, you must have a valid reason to stay long term in boarding house. -

Hi,
I’ve just registered for the JH Sch tour with 3 timing options, but only 1 timing is suitable for my DD after her sch ends. If she can’t make it for the timing given, do I have to inform the sch?
Does my DD have to wear sch uniform? -
Love Clouds:
You just need to go to the counter to inform the students there when you reach. If the last \"tour group\" has left the registration area, you may just want to join whichever group that passed by. You may miss some of the areas though. That was what we did during our first visit. We chatted with the students at the exhibition area til our group left without us and we didn't want to wait for the next slot.Hi,

or go to the exhibition area to see and Q&A the students. On our second visit we did not manage to as they packed up already after the tour and principal talk. We managed to Q&A the students during our first visit when we were waiting for our slot to commence.
My kid didn't wear school uniform when we went. -
Hi!
NJC is not a SAP Sec/IP cum JC school right?
Which means Higher Chinese bonus points obtained at PSLE cannot be used for application to NJC Year 1/Sec 1?
Does NJC offer Higher Chinese as an examinable subject at Year 1 to Year 4?
