      Hi everyone!

Do we still have PSLE Tscores next year?

If no, how will the secondary schools be allocated?

Thanks in advance for the enlightenment!

      :thankyou:

MOE has commented some time back to go away with PSLE Tscore system and to replace with banding instead (A, B etc)...yet to hear more details from MOE. I doubt the new system will implement by next year.

Very tough for working mothers to micro manage their time table. 😞

my daughter's time table is very flexible...but she has to cooperate with me. my 'standard' daily work for her is English, math and science.
if her school hw is really heavy that day, I will put mine aside.

Yes, I do agree and find that the jump this year, from p4 - 5 is huge. Both in terms of work load and subject difficulty.

My son too,did rather badly for CA1. He's not going for any tuition at the moment - he loved his leisure time and we also believe in a balanced approach, with play an important part of childhood. However, I have told him, if he cannot get back to the groove and to his previous standard (or closer to) by SA1, we might have to start him on some tuition already.

At p5, the mummy (aka me) is waking up and becoming kiasu 😓

How was his results in p4?
If he was in the high 80s and above band, then it's still very safe.
If he was in the 70ish band, then better revisit those stumbling blocks of p4 and fix them.

Piling them with more P5 work when they are still weak in some areas of p4 work is like putting more levels onto a weak foundation...more cracks will appear unless the lower levels are strengthen first.

too early to discuss PSLE preparation for now…for daughter, strengthen her foundation at p5 first…after all, not much teaching at p6. so far, she is doing ok…passing her subjects after MT exemption but definitely can improve more.

                    谢谢!
