Non-competitive runners gathering point is Grass area in front of stage; Competitive runner gathering point is near the zig-zag bridge. More info available under the briefing slide send from the school 🙂
Hi,

I run into another problem when setting up DS Gmail in Outlook on his MacAir. Had no problem setting up same Gmail in Outlook on my Surface Pro. I tested on Surface Pro, I am able to send and receive emails in Outlook with his school email. However, when I tried setting up the same in his MacAir, I am only able to receive emails, I cannot send out emails from Outlook in MacAir.

            I encountered an error \"5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. nb1sm10884724pdb.85 - gsmtp\"

My guess is I need to select TLS to connect to the outgoing SMTP server but there is no option for me to choose TLS connection unlike in Windows, I can choose TLS to connect to the outgoing SMTP server.

Any idea how to resolve this? Thanks.

I have problem too... so what I did was to log out and re-log in again, then from there to click and view the email. But this is a temporary measure. 😓

I have resolved that issue. Now DS can send and receive emails from Outlook in his MacAir.

I don't have the MacAir with me right now as I am overseas. If my memory did not fail me, you need to click on More options or Advanced settings, can't remember which one. But there is another window that pops up and ask you to set up Authenication for SMTP outgoing server. There is a dropdown list for 3 options. Choose :Using Username and Password.

Key in your DS email address in the username and his Password as in the one mentioned by Dinoegg.

That will resolve the sending email issue. At least it is working for my DS now. Good luck!
Good morning, may I know what's the format of the default password? 🙂

              Hi,

This forum is so quiet nowadays. Any parents wanna share you or your boy experience with the school so far?

My boy seems to be enjoying himself. But I am kinda worried that he is too relax. Not much homework to do.

Am I being too kiasu here?

My boy says school is ok so far. CCA is enjoyable. His main concern is some subject teachers does not seem to teach well. As a result he has to do alot of self-study or tuition (he only has English tuition, because he says his English teacher is \"hopeless\"). It makes me wonder, how are quality of teachers ascertain? If a class gets a lousy teacher, it is pretty unfair to students. Of course this scenario is not exclusive to this school.

My ds also enjoy his school life but it seems he plays a lot more too - \"games\". His schedule also seems pack with CCA.

By the way was the last test for Chinese difficult? DS failed his test.

With SA nearing, I am trying to get DS to try out past year papers from other schools. However, it seems that many topics are not covered yet.

For Science, some schools divide the papers into Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
When I asked DS what have they learnt for Science, is it Physics or Chemistry, he said, its just LSS - Lower Secondary Science! Faint~~~

from the feedback I get from my son…the progress of teaching is slow. Some teachers spent much time disciplining the students and as a result no time to teach class proper. There is even this Chinese teacher that wastes precious lesson time demoralising the students. Topics are not adequately covered especially languages. As I have no idea of the lesson plan for the students, I cannot comment more…but if they are really lagging behind, then there is cause for concern.

DS just got back his Math Base Test paper yesterday, he told me there the lowest in his class is 0. When I looked at the Math paper, the questions are rather straight forward and easy compared to the papers from other schools.

I don’t think DS has any clues on Geography and Literature as these 2 are completely new subjects. Anyone knows how to get hold of MSHS past years exam papers?
