Oh well, at least the parents are rich enough to take this to court. There are many other bullying cases left untold, undiscovered, until something drastic happened. I hope parents be on alert especially with your teenagers.

Hard to tell from the newspaper report which one is the bully.

Why cannot just transfer to another school in Singapore? :scratchhead:

each side have their own story to tell.

hard to conclude who is telling the truth

but she could have transferred to another JC in Sg

what programme is she studying in the "Wells Cathedral School in England" now ?

The students were the bullies, she is suing the school for not protecting her from the bullying…

I think she dsa-ed to RGS. As discussed in some other threads, one can’t just anyhow transfer to another school if you were accepted via DSA in the first place. Maybe she was so traumatized that she must leave Singapore to get away with all the emotion and hurt that she would be reminded of if she stays?

It’s really important to keep the channel of communication open between us and the child, esp. during the teenage years. To get them to gladly share with us what’s happening at school.

The youngsters of today are very different from my times, even the stories my P6 girl tells me nowadays are quite incredulous.

this generation of kids very vocal, daring

not sure what’s her chance of winning the court case : because RGS Secondary will hire a good lawyer to defend their school

but that girl who bullied her last time (which she claimed), need to be mentally prepared to appear in court too, since nitty detail of how she had been bullied last time, will surface in court

i’m confused…She’s arguing friends were jealous cos she held 2 positions, so she was bullied?

These are happening in primary sch also. My friend’s dd from a top SAP pri sch told me she was also ostracised by existing prefects when she was co-opted into the exco by teacher in P6. Old prefects who’s been in the exco since P4 didn’t like her and ignored her.

This case sounds ridiculously frivolous. More a case of Chinese orchestra politics than bullying. Waste of time n $. Hopefully the senior counsel was an old girl offering pro bono service.
