Singapore Chinese Girls School (Secondary)

Hi
My daughter is in p5 currently.i would like to apply for DSA in this school next year. Since my daughter changed schools a couple of times, she couldn’t be part of the school teams in th Cca .though she knows Indian dance very well and couple of sports like net ball and tennis.
What are the chances of getting into this school and please advise how to approach the DSA . Her school grades are in 85+, am pushing her to improve
Appreciate your help on this -
Would like to seek advice from SCGS parents.
How are Sec 1 classes typically being allocated? Will there be a mixture of affiliated and non-affiliated girls in the same class? Or is it purely by PSLE scores?
:thankyou: -

From what I know, for Sec 1 IP classes, the girls are grouped by PSLE scores with a mixture of affiliated and non-affiliated girls in the same class but not sure whether it is the same for Sec 1 'O' Level classes.Would like to seek advice from SCGS parents.

Hi parents, I'm an education reporter for The Straits Times. The completion date of the new JC will be pushed back from mid-2018 to end-2019. The holding site for the JC has also changed, from Bishan Street 14 to Mount Sinai (near Holland Road).
These changes mean that current Year 2 and Year 3 students will not get to study at the new JC campus at all, and may have to make new travelling plans with the change made to the holding site.
Any affected parents here? Do contact me at [email protected] or PM me. Cheers. -

think parents don't mind, if the temporary holding site is somewhere nearer to Bishan, instead of Ghim Moh
however, combining the 3 schools together (SCGS, SNGS, Catholic High boys) would need a big campus space.
not sure if there is any nearer vacant JC or place nearer to Bishan for temporary use, yet big enough to accommodate these 3 schools.
If can find one, will be great if can consider alternative temporary site -
Hi parents, sorry to bother. My name is Amelia and I'm an education reporter for The Straits Times. I'm doing a story on the new junior college that the IP students from SCGS, SNGS and Catholic High are joining. The MOE has asked a traffic consultant to study the traffic patterns around the three current school sites and do a forecast of the new campus' traffic flow. I'm hoping to speak to parents whose children who are entering the new junior college in 2019 (Secondary 1 this year), just to ask if how the traffic is like at the current schools. It'd be great if you could contact me at 91903116 or [email protected] today, thank you.

My view is that if it is not possible to find a suitable holding site near to the original site (which is in Bishan), MOE should allow those affected students have the option to change to other IP JCs which are nearer to their homes.Hi parents, I'm an education reporter for The Straits Times.
