tankee, what time were you there, roughly? I saw the you tiao stall and was tempted to, but was a super long Q, so I gave up. Haha, we might have met without knowing.
should be about 9 am ..... -
tankee:
Sorry, I am a bit confused now. Were you at Blk 16 market or Blk 58 market? I was at Blk 58 market at about 9plus to 10 for the mee rebus at Selera Kita.25hourmaid:

I remember eating a nice & famous Prawn Mee (soup version) at Bedok during breakfast but cannot remember which block number.
Anyone ?
are you referring to the Ah Gu Prawn Mee at blk 16 market? This stall has been featured in food shows in channel U and channel 8 many times. the Q is also very long. I've not tried it yet... heheheee... too many things to eat liao...
Scarly .... the queue was at least 20 people long when I was there yesterday morning. -

Haha, I am the opposite! I know where the market at Blk 58 is but have to go and google for the one at Blk 16! BTW, Blk 58 is one bus-stop away from Bedok stadium, in the direction of Tanah Merah, opposite some condos.I was at Blk 16 market ....

ha ha ... I have not been to any food outlets north of Bedok town center ....
By the way, some years back, there used to be an old couple selling western food in a coffee shop at Blk 123, Bedok North Street 2.
Anyone know where they have shifted to?

This Big Eater is next to a big drain, right ? Selling crab one right ?
I've tried this small restaurant there, not sure if its Big Eater or not. But i like their fried rice and their noodles. very very good! i will go check it out again and post here the name of the place.
Somehow, I think the noodles was too oily & salty when I was there. Maybe it is better now.

they open from morning. can't remember if they open at nite or not though.
will Ah Gu be open by 8am ? -

to name a few:
morning - you tiao, fishball noodles, prawn noodles (soup version), vegetarian, nasi lemak (i like the chilli and its very cheap! indonesian version), bin chien kuey (at the coffee shop, i like this stall BEST), some people like the roti prata too.
afternoon and nite - fried kuey tiao, cuttlefish bee hoon in rojak sauce, the yong tau foo not bad too, the rojak and the hor fun at the coffee shop.
dunno if i missed out anything or not... i know i don't like the chwee kuey in the market and the popiah at the coffee shop. i've not tried everything at the coffee shop too and not everything in the hawker centre.
good list
thanks -

Cha Kuey? No we did not. Where is the stall selling this?
no, not cha kuey... Sorry, its you tiao. its on the row facing the shops (breadshop, photoshop etc). only one stall selling.
finally tried this you tiao this morning. Good recommendation. Thanks :celebrate:
Makan Sutra 5 chopsticks. 60cents per piece.
Seems like a lot of people order in big quantity from them.
