      Hi lostbunny,

Thanks for answering my questions! Happy to know you also have a p1 next year! Who knows maybe our kids will be in the same class. Actually my idea timing is AM session so I will have more times to do homework together with her when I get back from work. I have been preparing my girl since young to sleep early and get up early. Haiz! Need to adjust her routine to sleep slightly later and wake up later.

I have another question. Do you know how school places p1 in which class? Do they do streaming at p1 or b4 p1?

I prefer AM session too as my DS2 will be in p5 next year so AM session also.

I think the placement into classes is randomly done. As for streaming, our school doesn't do that for p1s. Kids class would have been allocated when we go and do the paper work during the PSLE marking week. There was 1 year I saw that they tested the kids on reading during orientation but I think for this year's p1, it was done only when she opens. This testing is mainly to identify those who needs extra help on English.

          Hi all,

I’m intending to put my son in MBS next year too.

However, I have yet to receive MOE’s letter for the P1 registration.

Any of you have received yet?

          Thanks,
          Carolina

            Hi Carolina,

If you are registering your 1st child, there is actually no letter from MOE. You need to go to the MOE website to check out the registration dates and see which phase you qualify to register under. The letter mentioned here in the last few days is for those with siblings already in the school. Hope this clarifies.

However, I thought I read on the MOE website that a letter will be sent to all parents by MOE to inform of the registration procedure and that my child is due for primary school registraion.

I also remember receiving one for my sister many years back when her 1st child was due for primary school registration although they were overseas then.

              Has the procedure changed again?

              Thanks,
              Carolina

Can some parents shed some light on the Spectrum? Are parents allowed to participate?

                  Thanks.

                      Hi,

can any parents advise whether kids can buy extra PE shorts in school?
My girl needs another pair as there is some martial arts enrichment program.

You can call Shirley Season Wear at 62804917 to buy the uniform. They are located at 266 Serangoon Central Dr.
