MOE probably didn't anticipate all the structural challenges?

Someone said it was due to the Thomson mrt line but that one cuts thru Bishan Park from Faber Garden/ Ai Tong, not under this Golf Academy.

It could be becos of the NS expressway next to it.

Someone also mentioned it is gonna be a tall green building designed by the GBTB architect is it true? Maybe he was asked to make changes to the design like reinforcements becos of the concurrent building of the expressway? Maybe they discovered tt plot of land is soft and swampy?

Note: Blue = tunnel, dotted blue = semi-tunnel
New JC is at Sin Ming Ave/AMK Ave 1 right at the top of this map.

Here is roughly what we know:

      - Tunnel that goes along Marymount Road starting from Toa Payoh Rise to Jalan Pemimpin
      - Semi-Tunnel / Sunken Tunnel that continues on Marymount Road from Jalan Pemimpin to Sin Ming Avenue / Ang Mo Kio Ave 1
      - Tunnel along Marymount Road/Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 starting from Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 to Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 / Ave 8

I don't think it's fair to say there's been a \"betrayal of trust\" or \"breach of promise\" by MOE. There'll always be unforeseen surprises in building/construction, including the discovery of 700-year-old relics, sub-contractor that goes bust or sinkholes due to soil erosion.

      Let's be more understanding.

Best is to do is what others here have suggested. Transfer elsewhere, or propose alternative suitable campus with proper LTs, Labs and track and field.

One consideration is having holding sch in Toa Payoh Rise ( near former TP Hospital and Caldecott MRT) . Used by St Nic and CHIJ Pri formerly.

        Wrong configuration leh.
JC usually need lecture hall/theatre and adequately equipped labs.

Oh yeah. Forgot this point. Was thinking of close proximity for these 3 schs to be near one another.

however, the temp site at Mount Sinai only have 2 lecture Theatre : LT1 and LT2.

2 LT Not enough for the new JC (3 Secondary school students coming in, concurrently) hence need to renovate RJC campus next year 2016, to add in more facilities, so that come 2017 : they are ready for Year 5 pioneering batch students (born 2000)

But RJC campus here is very large : with many, many classroom available, big sprawling huge football field for outdoor Cca like softball, soccer, etc.
          big, spacious air-con auditorium.

Many, many small container classroom also fully air con
Not all 3 secondary schools, only the IP classes plus about 100 jae students (not sure if it is about 100 plus intake)

The initial cohort very small only. None of the JC is as many students as RI or HCI

Memory is failing me but confirm there were at least 3 LTs back then. One is very big. Can fit the entire science cohort. Another 2 smaller ones. Can’t rmbr if there was another smaller LT. More than enough classrms and labs. Big track. Big field. Big hall. Tennis courts. Basketball courts. Squash courts. I’m not sure how much retrofitting has been done for the pri sch but it won’t be so difficult to revert it back to a jc cos the main infrastructure remains unchanged. I think this is a better location than Bishan ITE for a jc.

Easy said than done! Moe has not offered any other alternative so far other than mount Sinai - I understand parents have come forth with alternatives. We can't stop the frustration affected parents are feeling -- moe should address the issue quickly.

Will you trust your contractor again if the contractor communicates a date for the building of your house but time and again delayed it?

I understand parents had asked repeatedly when the new building would be ready before this after it had been delayed before. Now the double whammy of the further delay plus change in holding site. Not only parents but the students are disappointed too according to report in Lianhe Zaobao.

My sympathies then. Sorry but why you said \"I understand\"? Weren't you there at the talk(s)?

But 大局已定 (can't change building schedule), what do you want MOE/URA to do? Open up their property listing to let all parents vote for a venue?

Since you created this thread, why not list down here those alternatives you understood from other parents?

Thereafter, follow up with another email to ST Forum, Zaobao Yanlun, Today Voices.

Trust me, only then will they scramble to reply to your concerns. Chitchating and https://www.facebook.com/OurSGConversation/posts/371057432970638 here is no use.

Rather than bowing, do share some of your ideas too.

For instance, chase SJI out to Mt Sinai and conquer Bishan ITE? :rotflmao: :siam:
