My son is borned 2010, staying around Eunos. No affiliation with any schools. Wanted to join grassroots but last year they changed the policy to 2 years and we are short of a few months. PA told us that we may not get the letter of recommendation.

STRESSED.

Schools that i am targeting are Tao Nan/Ngee Ann/Mahabodhi/Kong Hwa.

Ngee Ann primary : SC balloted, outside 2 km
how far is Eunos, from Ngee Ann ?


the rest (Tao Nan, Kong Hwa, Maha Bodhi) primary :
require SC to ballot, within 1 km.

if Eunos exceed 1 km from these 3 hot schools, no chance

PLMGS used to be not so popular but the balloting results last year was peculiar. anyone know why?

I'm not pouring cold water on you. Since 2013 P1 Registration exercise for 2014 Intake, P1 registration during Phase 2C, SC outside 1km doesn't stand a chance to even go balloting at PLMGS. Save your chance go another school.

For Roysth, pray very hard that you get balloted in at Phase 2B or else Phase 2C is almost impossible to get in even if you are staying within 1km. The balloting is just crazy.

just to correct
last year (2014), Paya Lebar Methodist primary :
balloting occurred for SC, within 1 to 2 km.
not ballot within 1 km

so those within 1 to 2 km still got chance to enter : just that they need to ballot. depend on your luck, that balloting day.
last year, some children were balloted out

You have a daughter, if you have no son, can go all out for PLMGS. If you have a son, better to consider Roysth for the sake of the younger one. Another alternative is your son can go Maris Stella, while your daughter goes to PLMGS. Or you can consider Holy Innocent Primary School, a SAP school that is mixed (boys and girls).

Note: PLMGS P1 no higher Chinese. Maris Stella, Roysth and Holy Innocent, P1 onwards have to take compulsory Higher Chinese.

just to clarify i don't think Rosyth takes higher chinese from P1
