When RJC first moved to Mt Sinai in 1984, it was the 2nd JC, HCJC was undeniably the top JC then. Subsequently, when HCJC was forced to move to Bukit Batok due to structural issues in the Bukit Timah campus buildings, RJC managed to overtake HCJC to be the top JC.
RJC was the top JC when it was in Mt Sinai.mashy:

Tuas? HCJC was top JC in 1980s but after it moved to Bukit Batok in 1988 and was there for a couple of years, RJC became the top JC and didn't you notice most top schools are along Bukit Timah Road.
Since there are even more choices now, why choose to go to the new IPJC when there are attractive alternatives?
Even a top JC like HCJC could easily slip in its ranking due to an unfavorable location, what about a brand new JC without a track record?[/quote]No la...by my era, geppers had come of age, so all creme de la creme got channelled to rjc \"by default\", cos they auto admitted into the two feeder R offering GEP at sec level...hence facilitating the rise of the titans! The rest is history. -

Peaceful coexistence only when the other party is dead?
Of course I don't know where is Bukit Timah but I know the icing on the cream is next to the columbarium giving special meaning to peaceful coexistence
The high seas has no such problem
And NJC isn't even first tier JC
NJC may not be a first tier JC but Bukit Timah Road does boast a host of good secondary schools and one top tier JC in HCI. -
jetsetter:
So it is totally unfair to the rest of the stakeholders who pay taxes to have to pay a higher construction cost just for a new JC that could be built elsewhere at a lower cost with the same facilities.
I cannot stop thinking of nicoll highway :nailbite:lee_yl:
What if one day, the soil analysis fails?
Do you think it failed because it cannot support a 10-storey JC building or LTA needs to take back that piece of land for transportation expansion, hence it fails? One can query the govt and of cos the govt can give you a 1000 page soil analysis report that none of us can interpret. Or simply say, for your own safety.
So, pray hard that the soil test pass when the tenant moves out end of the year, or else, the new IPJC may be built in yet another area where there's no JC yet.
Soil condition there is a serious issue -

\"IP students from CHS, CHIJ SNGS and SCGS will spend their first four years in their respective secondary schools, before they progress to a new government JC in 2017. For the initial batches, the new JC will operate at an interim campus to be located at the current ITE College Central (Bishan Campus). The interim campus will be fully furnished and equipped with the necessary resources for students to fully benefit from an enriched IP curriculum. More details of the permanent site will be released later.

No problem. Honestly, if we have no kids in the schools, it is unlikely we will know or remember so much details. So I give these parents the benefit of doubt that they know what they are fighting for. Anyway, we all make mistakes, I do too. :celebrate:

Well, it did regain its ranking and admittedly, HCI is one of the top schools by any measure. For it to regain its preeminence, perhaps we can try a social experiment to move RI to Tuas and measure the impact?
Then by the location logic, it should have regained its place when it moved back? -

But what to do when changes occur? We're living in a dynamic era. Change is the only constant. Cannot hold people at the throat and say give me or die.

Thanks for pointing out. This is an important piece of information that unaffected parents are not aware of. Put ourselves in their shoes, we will definitely pursue the matter.
