25HMOM:
The sobering fact is : one man's meat is another's poison. Moe won't be able to please and placate everyone. Some just won't be able to accept circumstances outside of everyone's control, eg soil condition. Unless they want another Nicoll Highway or Hotel New World.Thank you, jetsetter, for the various attachments.
Perhaps the light refreshments for the Q&A session should include strawberries, apples, oranges, water melons, durians, papaya, pineapples & kokonuts too.
I particularly like this assurance that \"MOE works with all schools to ensure the best possible educational experience for all our students. Every student's educational experience is equally important to us and we have a duty to try to look after all students' interests as much as possible in a reasonably balanced manner\".
MOE, I salute you! -

Now that MOE had explained the reasons clearly, Look like MOE wont bulge : Mount Sinai is the reality JC set to go, from 2017 onwardszeemimi:
This Q&A, go or don't go, is not going to change much.
Yeah, whatever transparencies needed are all laid down. -

Don't some parents always think their children deserve more attention from the govt than 'other peoples' children'?

Throw away your dream gear and replace it with a realistic gear, perhaps? -
even if physical facility new JC not built yet (need to go through soil analysis test first) someone mentioned in this forum earlier to give & take that software wise : MOE will assign the best Senior, experienced HOD teaching staff, for this pioneering batch (2017) kick off, at Mount Sinai
Since the new JC yet to be named : temporarily, just call it the "Mount Sinai JC", until the new JC is born, available to shift into new premises.
for pioneering batch graduating in "A" level 2018, if people ask, "which JC did you graduate from", temporarily just reply, "Well, I graduate from the Mount Sinai JC"
After new JC is born, subsequent batch of students can say, "I graduate from the new Bishan JC"
(old Bishan JC refer to Raffles Institution)
Life has up and down. Pioneers normally tend to encounter some setback in life, make some sacrifice, in order to pave the way for subsequent future batches, to enjoy. For that, you make history, be the hero.
That is why you are called the "pioneer" batch. -

OK fine...After much ranting and petitioning, even if parents managed to pressurise the authorities to issue a public apology or to acknowledge their alleged miscalculations, poor planning, lack of transparency and accountability, what next do you want?
Will an apology make parents and students happier?
MOE still cannot abracadabra another campus in Bishan-AMK for you by 2018, right? An admission of mistake cannot speed things up also. NSE semi-tunnel must still \"eat\" into your campus. Thomson-EC line must still be dug. Drawings must still be corrected by SJI and IPJC architects.
At the end of the day, cannot means cannot, even highest authority - Min for Education 都放话出来了: \"I'm not saying that it is ideal when you have a delay, but the truth of the matter is there will be, in life, unforeseen circumstances...\"
So very likely, it'll still go back to square one, which is Mt Sinai!

My dd is in Sec 1 SCGS IP.
I have no issues with the location of the Mt Sinai campus. It takes approximately 10 min to walk there from the MRT. I went to try out the route.
However, the campus is old and I have heard from students currently studying in the school that the LTs smell of mildew and that pupils and teachers who have used the music rooms came down sick after using these rooms. Former Henry Park students said that toilets were not suitable for kids.
A lot of renovation work will have to be put in to upgrade the science labs, music rooms even the teaching classrooms.
Having said that, I remember using container classrooms in my day. We all made do with what we had and tried to be resourceful with what we lacked. Its the "heart-ware" that counts. -

No worries, extensive rejuvenation is promised. -
At what cost ?
Future schools under Prime can use the campus but they don’t need the
Extensively refurbished lecture theaters and many other facilities meant for jc.
