      optimistforum:
      Good evening

I have uncovered two other publications: Test Your Reasoning (Robert Gibson, 1987) and Test Your Intelligence (Archibald Kitto-Jones, 1982). I have reviewed them and they would be useful for GEP Part 2.

Both titles are from the same suite of educational books published by the publishers of First Aid in English; they are therefore robust and useful tests for those transferring to secondary schools.

They are out of print and can be bought from e-bay and Amazon. They do not come with answers, but I also possess the published answer booklets. I can scan and email these to whomever needs copies.

      O
My DS1, who is a rising \"9\", is using the Test Your Intelligence books. He attempts one exercise a week. I would recommend this for GEP study; it boosts cognitive intelligence.

He’s not living in Singapore. Plus he mentioned they are out of print. So most likely only on e-bay and Amazon as posted by him. cheers

I have listed a few books useful to develop logical thinking skills. New research has shown that IQ is not static, it can be improved to some extent through practice. The brain is like a muscle, the more it is used the better it gets.

The list of useful books, some of which I have personally read can be found here:
              http://mathtuition88.com/2013/11/11/recommended-books-for-gep-selection-test/

Other books not listed there may be helpful too, the key is to read books that are both interesting and teach logical thinking skills. Even books like crossword or Sudoku may be helpful.

These are not assessment books. Just fun puzzles or brain teasers
