May I know which part of Mt Sinai is unsafe? :scratchhead: The campus is used by so many schools through the years. This is the first time I heard of the area around it being unsafe.dimsum:

If you have not \"walked the talk\" , don't \"talk the walk\" ! Go try it now or ask your kids to walk around the area now and come back and tell us how utter is the rubbish .
Mt Sinai unsafe?
Please be more specific.
obviously is all around the school site not safe, plus the route to be taken from Buona Vista MRT to Mt Sinai, back and forth, unsafe, passing through the hawker centre also not safe….who knows, hot oil may accidentally spill to the students -

:goodpost: Well said, Lee Yi. They choose not to listen to the facts. By reading their several posts, we are well aware of their ill intentions.
ill intentions or ill xxx ? anyway, I think we can all work towards a win-win situation for all and show the kids what the real world is like when give and take comes after assuming responsibility.
What facts? Why mock and deride the affected parents and their children when the fault is MOE's and yet all the time, it is positioned as if the parents and their children are at fault?lee_yl:

Wah you very brave for stating these facts. :scared: -

RGPS is still there. Not far away is Henry Park Primary. Lots of GEP students studying there everyday. Maybe those primary school kids don't know how dangerous it is? :scared:

facts are hard to swallow when one is prejudiced to the location without setting foot on it. with wounded pride and wounded ego, it is impossible to try
Speaking of MOE? Indeed with their pride and ego wounded, they are obviously not ready to acknowledge and face the stark truth. -

nothing for the MOE to hide
parents with wounded pride take it out on MOE and assume conspiracy theory -

The concern now is that with a number of blocks in Ghim Moh demolished and many of the remaining units rented out, the area behind the side-gate to the school appears deserted at night. Should this concern be real, a simple mitigating measure is to have well-lit paths. Tanglin Halt has a similar problem and in the span of the last few months, a number of assaults took place there.
Let there be precautionary measures, and not wait for a tragedy to happen and then simply attribute that to \"unforeseen circumstances\". -

parents with wounded pride take it out on MOE and assume conspiracy theory
Wrong analogy, for a pot to call the kettle black, they must both be black, or at fault. Pray tell me, how are the parents at fault when the interim site and the designated permanent site are committed and when the parents believed in good faith, they found themselves played out?
No wounded pride here, just resignation and disappointment that their faith have been misplaced. -
We stayed in RJ library till closing time. Was it 9 or 10pm back then? Even if the blocks are currently demolished, another 2 years down the road still status quo meh? tragedy can happen anywhere la. don't want tragedy, home school the best.
cannot talk about distance, now talk about safety in the area. :faint:
If really like the Bishan AMK area so much, go and ask for the empty school building at AMK St 23, former holding site of several pri schs. Decent but no lecture theatres, no track, no lab. near sngs. near cat high. -

another ex-minister aged parents also live there. :evil:if these 16 y/o are not trusted to even take public transport, how to trust them naming a JC? You may end up with Hamtaro JC or SpongeBob JC or some strawberry JC
On mt Sinai being unsafe this is utter rubbish. No far away is a minister with his beautiful wife living across the road. Where else can be safer ?
Bishan is more unsafe with the Bishan gay lurking around plus got molest cases ever at Bishan park right ? -

With all due respect, if you are not an affected parent, it is a theoretical exercise to speak of compromise, give and take etc.
Haizzz.
No wonder I have been having a hard time convincing my kids that in life there need to be give and take. Sometimes things just happen, just take it at their stride. The reply I get -- \"Why should I?? It's not my fault!!\"
Imagine this scenario, a kid was promised a lollipop but it turned out to be curry pok. The curry pok was stuffed down the poor kid's throat and when he protested that it was not what he was promised, he was derided as a strawberry kid because everyone could eat it but not him.
