they can say not interested in old folks mayโฆ..unsafe for 16-17 y/o only;
another ex-minister aged parents also live there. :evil:zeemimi:
if these 16 y/o are not trusted to even take public transport, how to trust them naming a JC? You may end up with Hamtaro JC or SpongeBob JC or some strawberry JC
On mt Sinai being unsafe this is utter rubbish. No far away is a minister with his beautiful wife living across the road. Where else can be safer ?
Bishan is more unsafe with the Bishan gay lurking around plus got molest cases ever at Bishan park right ?
:siam:
Those residents around the campus are way above average wealthy. But I think the 'criminals' lurking around that area prefer 16-17 y/o compared to easy money from aged residents.

no la ... it was raised by you all to shoot down mt sinai as a suitable site. if you want to talk about safe unsafe, everywhere is safe. everywhere is also unsafe.
The issue of safety was raised as a point for affected parents to be mindful of but interestingly, this point was immediately seized upon and again used as a lever against the parents and their children.zeemimi:
We stayed in RJ library till closing time. Was it 9 or 10pm back then? Even if the blocks are currently demolished, another 2 years down the road still status quo meh? tragedy can happen anywhere la. don't want tragedy, home school the best.
cannot talk about distance, now talk about safety in the area. :faint:
If really like the Bishan AMK area so much, go and ask for the empty school building at AMK St 23, former holding site of several pri schs. Decent but no lecture theatres, no track, no lab. near sngs. near cat high. -

If you don't know your facts well, I suggest you visit the police HQ for that precinct and find out which areas of Queenstown is most troublesome and notorious before you pass judgement about the safety of Mt Senai area.

If you have not \"walked the talk\" , don't \"talk the walk\" ! Go try it now or ask your kids to walk around the area now and come back and tell us how utter is the rubbish .
My kids have, dear. And they have had no bad experiences. And i am an active parent, didnt hear any stories in any parents.
So now your turn. Please state on what basis you claim the place to be unsafe ?
If not this is sheer fear mongering. -

Sheer speculation to feed into parents fears , imho.
I state based on my past 14 years experience living in Mt. Sinai and GhimMoh. And my kids take public transport since P3.
Now can we have some facts that is the basis of the conclusion you jump to? -
how about asking for mediacorpโs old premises at caldecott hill since they have moved to a rather unsafe buona vista one-north?

This is just like the non-stop argument about distance and walking time, now when there is talk about nighttime safety in the area, this group of forumers would just appear
For affected parents, it is about information sharing and those who are concerned can just make a trip down to the Ghim Moh area behind the side-gate of the school at night to see for yourselves. If there is a need for better lit paths and more street lights, please raise it during the dialogue session on 25 May.
