I can't help but notice that the only person who keeps harping on 'transfer to Top JCs' and 'transfer to another JC is Bishan' is YOU. No one here seems to have mentioned it as often as you do. Do you even notice that you've brought this point up so many times in this thread ? Perhaps you don't, as it's usually unnoticeable to oneself if its one's sub-conscious mind (& desires) at work..
I'm not sure if you are a so called 'affected' party yourself, but I can tell you are not very inclusive. Your enthusiasm might jeopardize other people of transferring to HCI or RI if you bang table too hard and piss these top schools off or insist only 'affected' opinions are right or if not infected please shut up or get lost attitude. :scared:
Singapore is a small pond, a stone thrown in it will cause a wave not a ripple. Everyone's affected. :imdrowning: -

Glad someone noticed but really it was deliberate and on my conscious mind to point out that certain people have this intention to leverage on the situation to achieve this, and you can read it from the petition comments for yourself.

I guess people want to see what they want to see. Perhaps that's why you noticed. :scared: If I take the lead to ask for this kind of transfer I think a lot of people will be very happy with me. Unfortunately my intention was to highlight the opportunistic intention of some. Anyway thanks for noticing.

I think you think too much… Not everyone is as obsessed as you…

...but at least you didn't provide misinformation to mislead people.I think you think too much... Not everyone is as obsessed as you..

sinoboy:
You were spreading misinformation that the place may have lurking crminals just a few pages ago and now you said just requesting street lamps? :scratchhead:
lee_yl:
Misleading information? Are you talking about yourself?
The term \"criminals ' lurking\" came from YOU and NOT ME! Please post with integrity and conscience.sinoboy:
Those residents around the campus are way above average wealthy. But I think the 'criminals' lurking around that area prefer 16-17 y/o compared to easy money from aged residents.

It’s regrettable that like the sheeps in Animal Farm, the amount of bickering here distracted us from the more useful and constructive posts in this thread.
I wonder if we’re Kiasuparents or kiasuteenagers in real life. -

I am also very thankful that you have brought this up when something so simple has escaped my simple mind. I always forget that people who push so hard for something are almost always far-looking. They proudly declare that they are truly altruistic in their objectives and have no vested interest in what they aggressively fight for since their kids are not in the picture, but it later shows that ahhh ... they are paving the way for their kids!
Why would some parents (not saying anyone here) be upset? Maybe their kids are currently in the O-level track gunning for a coveted place in one of those top IPJCs via JAE, but due to this massive 'exodus' allowed by MOE, their kids' chances could be narrowed and COP of their dream IPJC lowered as supply diminishes??
Another group could be parents of prospective P5-6 students gunning for those established IP schools via PSLE/DSA. All these negative publicity generated by the new Govt JC's community could cause students to flock to other alternative schools as long as the IPJC isn't built, as such heighten competition elsewhere/affect the COP of selected IP schs?

You can't fight with people like that. Now I understand why someone mentioned about 'you don't know who are the people helping you' or something to that effect. Now I know why the phrase was clear as day to him but totally murky to me. The truth is: you don't know who are the ones who truly have a personal agenda to fight for Mt Sinai.
I think the safety issue has been ridiculously magnified to show how irrelevant or incoherent the argument is, so ridiculous that I find it pointless to comment on, but I also find it funny that parents on kiasuparents forum really believe that the Singapore now is as safe as the Singapore when they were studying.
I always tell my friends who ask me to 'relax lah' when my kid isn't home at 9pm bcos they themselves also went home late when they were teens,\"Last time don't have 阿豪 leh.\"
Please do not bother to dwell on 阿豪 by researching who he is and how relevant it is to Mt Sinai. The details of the arguments to prove others wrong are just too silly.
I have said this and would like to say this again: not everyone wants his kid to go RJC/RI so please don't keep saying you studied there before to show how much of an elite you are.
It only makes people feel that you are very elitist. -
I don’t see anyone who shares with me he’s from RI as being elitist. Granted, it’s a very good school. It’s just matter-of-fact sharing.
Anyway, I’m sure we’ve seen enough no-RI alumni who went on to have stellar careers. -

See, I told you earlier, the Internet Bridgade is still using their same old tactics to divert, distract and disrupt constructive discussions. It's regrettable that like the sheeps in Animal Farm, the amount of bickering here distracted us from the more useful and constructive posts in this thread.
I wonder if we're Kiasuparents or kiasuteenagers in real life.
Has the Internet Bridgade won? Good luck too all affected parents and may this thread rest in peace. :imanangel:
