Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools

If feedback to the principal, will it help?
top classes definitely have best teachers in the school.Ikid:
Whereas for the students who are weak in their academics, the teachers will need more time to build their foundation and skills and hence they will not have time for any extras.
for the weak ones, are teachers willing to invest more effort and time or pass on this responsibility to the parents?
a close friend disclosed her daughter who is not from higher ability class has a teacher always on MC. substitute teachers don't teach. -

janet, so far, it doesn't appear to be this case for my kids since Primary School.
They were in the top 2 classes in Primary School but didn't get the best teachers. The average classes got better teachers instead. -
janet88,
Ok I think I’m more enlightened now! Good school doesn’t have to be good and the normal school doesn’t mean kids cannot excel! Maybe the less stressful environment would be a better bet for the next 6years so that they can enjoy the time spent in the primary school and at the same time study hard! -

yup...you really got the picture. :hi5:janet88,

every school is different...for some schools, principals put the teachers who are past child-bearing age in the top 2 classes (no interruptions with maternity leave and most experienced) to get the cream. for the other classes, teachers can be of any calibre...frequent MC type or simply bochap type.

Pei Hwa primary is better school.janet88,
Yes I truly agree on the flexibility of single session whereby kids will have more time after school, care to share how did your son fare in PHPPS? Seriously I'm not too sure about my girl's stress level at K2 since there is more play than work but overall I think she is able to cope with the spelling and homework so far. I believe most school pushes kids these days so I feel stress is everywhere.
Do you happen to know anything about KPS? I wonder if it will be a pity if I will to choose KPS over PHPPS since its a SAP school which every parents would have made it their #1 choice.
Enrol your child into Pei Hwa, first.
Try out P1 /P2, first.
Can consider transfer back to Keming at end of P1, or mid P2 later on, if logistics cause inconvenience, or for other reasons -
I don’t think it is a good idea to transfer the child to another school after he/she has settled down and made friends. logistics wise, KPS is friendlier because it is in the morning session. vogue is staying at west coast…so her child would need to wake up early to get ready for the school bus. school ends at 630pm for pei hwa. that means a whole day is spent outside compared to studying in KPS.

Actually either way, I will be putting my girl with the student care before or after school be it PHPPS or KPS. So that there will be some help for her on her school work. -

yup...at least she has her school work completed when she reaches home. that is most important.
